The West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust has been raising money for several years now to build and run a hospice to provide care and support for children with life limiting conditions in the Kirklees, Calderdale and Wakefield Areas of West Yorkshire.
After a huge effort by many local people the dream is about to be realised and building is expected to commence within the next few months. This means that fund raising is even more important as there is still some way to go to fund the completion of the building and once built there will be significant on going running costs to meet.
The hospice will be located in the Brackenhall area of Huddersfield and will provide much needed facilities including specialist respite, palliative and end of life care in a family focused environment. There will also be bereavement support and community based support teams will deliver support services in the home.
To help raise funds a weekly prize draw is being launched, costing £1 per week. There will be a first prize of £500, 2nd prize of £25 and 5 x 3rd prizes of £10. This is a fantastic cause which needs as much local support it can get.
