TERRIFIC TERRORS

Be prepared for ‘Terrific Terrors’ at Bagshaw Museum in Batley on Tuesday, October 26. Hallowe’en will inspire family sessions being held 11am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm and there will  be spooky stories and activities exploring the origins of this festival and its Irish traditions.

Youngsters can follow the trail and discover the curse of the Mummy’s Tomb! Older children will have to answer questions to solve the trail, while younger children will have to find the pumpkins hidden around the museum in Wilton Park, Batley.

There will also be treats for children attending in fancy dress.

There will be a charge of 50p per child (5-16years) for the activities sessions; Kirklees Passport holders go free.

This is a Precious Cargo event. Precious Cargo is a regional programme of events being funded by Renaissance Yorkshire as part of the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council's 'Stories of the World' project for the 2012 Cultural Olympiad. The project looks at the objects, collections and people that have travelled from other parts of the world to areas of this country and have helped to shape communities. Over the summer Bagshaw Museum held children’s activities that spotlighted North America, India, China and Japan.

Bagshaw’s Hallowe’en trail will be available for children to do on Sunday, October 31. Children visiting the museum in fancy dress that day will receive treats.
