Kirklees Council has begun public consultation on the planned Tesco store in Holmfirth (on the old Midlothian Garage site on the road between Holmfirth and New Mill). Kirkless is collecting people's opinions on the plan until August 9th.

Our local businesses need your support!
How many local shops and businesses would be adversely affected? And if this leads to the closure of shops (which surely will happen), what would that do to our tourism industry and for the character and charm of Holmfirth.
Both myself (Jan) and my sister Julie - (owners of thebestof Huddersfield) have lived in Holmfirth for many years so we have a personal interest in what happens in this area, as well as being passionate about protecting our great local businesses.
