Hidden Hertford Walks - take a leisurely stroll on a Sunday morning
Open Farm Sunday, managed by LEAF (Linking Environment And Farming), is one of the farming industry’s biggest success stories. Since the first Open Farm Sunday in 2006, over 1000 farmers across the UK have opened their gates and welcomed people onto their farm for one Sunday each year. It is a fantastic opportunity for everyone, young and old, to discover at first hand what it means to be a farmer and the fabulous work they do producing our food and managing the countryside.
It is time for the little ones to have some fun in the woods with a six-week Forest School activity programme aimed specifically at pre-school children aged three to five. Become a wild explorer, search for minibeasts, make mud-pies in our mud kitchen, and much more!
A shorter walk to the ‘Panshanger Great Oak’ for those that find the walk from car park too far. Join Jennifer, Panshanger Park People & Wildlife Officer, for a short walk from the site of Panshanger House around the oak, taking in the orangery and views over Repton’s landscape. Parking will be available close by at the Panshanger House site. Book online or call 01727 858901.
