With Valentine’s Day fast approaching you will be thinking of ways to treat that special person in your life. As ever our business members of thebestof henleyonthames have come up with some great ideas for you to choose from.

The Bay Trees in Sonning Common opened last year and booking is essential if you like good food in vintage surroundings. On 14th February they are serving a 2 course lunch or a 4 course dinner menu. If you book the dinner a glass of prosecco is complimentary as well as an amuse bouche and coffee and mints.

The Henley Brewhouse has a Valentine’s Day menu from 7pm in the evening of 14th February.  The four course dinner starts with that traditional Valentine’s staple – seafood. One of the choices is a seafood platter to share that will no doubt include a few oysters.  Other highlights include Devilled Hearts and an edible Chocolate Garden with Blood Orange Ice Cream. The meal is finished off with dark, white and pink chocolate truffles with coffee.

Luscombes are also spreading the love. On the 14th and 15th February "Guitar Maestro" Jonny Owens will be entertaining guests. On Valentine's Day itself the restaurant has a special Valentine's sharing menu with complimentary Bubbly and canapes. On Saturday 15th there will also be complimentary bubbly and canapes but with a special Valentine's four course menu. If you prefer to celebrate at home you can order a Valentine's takeaway for £45 per head. With 3 courses including a seafood platter this is a great idea.

The Hotel du Vin are making the love last all weekend. From Thursday 13th February until Sunday 16th February. They have a special 4 course menu that includes a complimentary glass of champagne Lallier Grand Cru Rose. Of course the Hotel du Vin is also a great place to stay for a romantic weekend.

If you are looking for a Valentine’s Day gift then KuBu Spa can help you. They will be serving a complimentary glass of bubbly and Kubu Spa chocolates with all treatments booked for 14th, 15th and 16th February. If you can’t make those days a KuBu gift voucher would be much appreciated I’m sure.

Boatique have a range of gifts for both men and women including handbag and cardigans for her and belts socks and cuff links for him. They also have a range of deck shoes for men and women. For more unusual gifts they have a model of a Biscay Fishing Boat and women’s gadget cases.

Chocolate is always a great gift and in addition to their usual gift boxes Gorvett & Stone have chocolate hearts including some with cinder toffee.

As always there is plenty to choose from in Henley’s independent shops and restaurants.

Whatever you decide, have a great Valentine’s Day
