In case you had forgotten it is Father’s Day this Sunday, June 16th. Several of our bestofhenleyonthames members have got some great gifts for your Dad proving that if you Buy Local you will be able to get something really different and unusual. So to save you the legwork here is a roundup of some great Father’s Day gift ideas for your Dad.

Boatique in Hart Street, Henley-on-Thames have a great choice of nautically inspired gifts for Dads who are into spending time on the water or wish they could. They have some great socks for sale at pocket money prices, I said unusual, I didn’t say original. They also feature a range of gifts from Nick Munro in conjunction with the RNLI. The range includes handkerchiefs featuring flag codes and two mugs “Forties” and “Viking” inspired by the shipping forecast. Some of the profit from these items will be donated to the RNLI.

Beer is usually welcomed by most Dads, or is that just in our house? Loddon Brewery sells a gift pack of six of their locally brewed beers. These are available from the shop at the brewery in Dunsden.

For a truly different idea KuBu Spa in Bell Street, Henley-on-Thames has vouchers for their Gentlemens Tipple. This is a 40 minute treatment that will begin with a warm hand or foot soak followed by a full manicure and pedicure which includes an exfoliation and hand or foot massage whilst enjoying a light beer.

Another great gift idea is a book and the Bell Bookshop in Bell Street has a selection of books that might appeal to your Dad in their window. If you are looking for something else for your Dad they are always happy to give suggestions. I’ve read several books that I wouldn’t have read otherwise thanks to suggestions from Alison and Hilary.

The Lemongrove Gallery has a wall dedicated to Father’s Day in their premises on Duke Street. They will also gift wrap your picture for free.

Last but not least what about chocolate? Gorvett and Stone also in Duke Street have man-sized bars of their delicious chocolate made on the premises. Treat your Dad to a 500g bar of dark or milk chocolate for £20. Or what about fish and chips? A hand decorated milk chocolate fish together with white chocolate chips for £16.95

I hope you’ve found an idea for your Dad in this range of suggestions. If you do buy a gift as a result of this blog do tell the shop owner I sent you.
