Two New Restaurants Opening In Henley
20th March 2013

Having just completed an extensive review of the Pubs and Restaurants in central Henley little did I know that I would soon have to update the information with two new openings in town.

Pub and Restaurant review of central Henley

Having had lots of poor reviews on Trip Advisor and bad word of mouth locally La Barca situated at Hobbs Boathouse has closed and in its place will open a fine dining restaurant run by Shaun Dickens. Called Shaun Dickens at The Boathouse it will be "a fine dining restaurant serving modern British food using the finest local ingredients".

Shaun Dickens has trained at several top class local restaurants including Le Manoir aux Quat Saisons and L'Ortolan. "The restaurant offers a wonderful lunch and dinner menu with a wide selection of modern interpretations of British classics and of course in the summer the terrace will provide a stunning vista of the river" It will be great that Henley now has a fine dining restaurant that it lacked. Hopefully the Boathouse will produce fine food and that the ambience will be far better than La Barca.

Also opening soon is the renovated Bull in Bell Street. Having had many iterations including a cocktail bar and a night club the Bull will be Brakspears first managed pub and restaurant. Opening at Easter. Apparently Brakspears' have spent a lot of money refurburshing the Bull. We will be getting a sneak preview next Thursday 28th March as we are due to have lunch during their soft launch phase. We will report back with a review next week. The Bull ought to be a good advertisement for Brakspear as their HQ is right behind the Bull.
