River & Rowing Museum hosts Tourism South East’s Group Travel Fair

Tourism South East’s popular series of Group Travel Trade Fairs for 2010 will be taking place at the River & Rowing Museum in Henley on Thames, on Saturday 6 March.

The event will be opened at 10.30am by Councillor Liz Hodgkin, Mayor of Henley.  The ever popular Mr Toad from Wind in the Willows will be making an appearance, and Hobbs of Henley will be providing free 30 minute river boat tours and a free river boat taxi service to the town for the duration of the show.

The show will be the final of three events which have taken place across South East England, and provides Henley with a fantastic opportunity to promote itself as an important tourist destination.

Every year more than 273 million tourist and leisure trips are made by coach within the UK, providing an estimated £2.35 billion into the UK economy.

Paul Mainds, Chief Executive River & Rowing Museum:  "We are thrilled to be hosting the Group Travel Fair, and with 38 exhibitors and more than 300 visitors expected, this is the perfect opportunity for us to showcase Henley, the Museum and the beauties of the Thames Valley.  As Chair of the Tourism group of the Henley Partnership, I am thrilled to have brought this major event to the town".
