This Saturday 8th November the Kenton will celebrate its 203rd birthday in style with a concert by Rosemary Squires, followed by a party onstage.

LIFE IS A SONG

An amusing anecdotal caper in music and song

Britain's best-known Big Band singer Rosemary Squires is joined by Radio 2's celebrity pianist Brian Dee and his Music, and international guitarist Colin Green, for an evening of family entertainment, music and fun.

The show focuses on Rosemary's reminiscences of her star-studded life, told in anecdotes, monologues, music and song. Her long career has included her own radio and TV series, topping the bill at the Palladium and performing on both sides of the Atlantic, earning the nickname of 'Britain's Doris Day'.

She has starred with such legends as Danny Kaye, Morecambe & Wise, Sammy Davis Jnr and Cliff Richard, and with all the major music-makers from Ted Heath to the BBC Concert Orchestra.

And, as 'Queen of the Jingles', she has featured in hundreds of adverts . . . remember 'Hands that do Dishes'? She has certainly 'been there and done that', which is really what the show is all about - spiced by innocent backstage chat!

Brian Dee has accompanied such stars as Bing Crosby and Peggy Lee, while Colin Green has worked with countless big names, including several years as musical director to Shirley Bassey.

Tickets are available from the Box Office, as are a limited number of tickets for the onstage party after the show. Call 01491 575698 today.
