Crispy Criitters win British Barbecue Grand Championship

Great News the team competing under the name 'Crispy Critters' Competed and Won the British Barbecue Grand Championship on the 24th and 25th July at the Rother Valley park in Sheffield..

Team members were :

Jeremy Fowler - who holds the only European Master Judges Certificate for KCBS and has been Ex World Head Judge for the WBBQN. and Managed the British National Team in 2002/3/4 Jeremy owns Seriously BBQ that is featured on thebestofhenleyonthames. http://www.thebestof.co.uk/local/henley-on-thames/business-guide/feature/seriously-bbq/75472

Rocky Danner, (Ex Vice President of the World Body) who flew in from the States and took the photograph was instrumental in both team and Competitor briefings and helped the Organiser oversee the contest. Yet declined to Judge the Final as he indicated he had too many friends to lose.

Three of the team have already competed at the World Championships in America before in 2007 and this year they get to go again as the Country winners for Great Britain. The same three have also their own Barbecue interests : Jeremy with www.seriouslybbq.com a Henley based company who's team also provided a sampling stand for the general public on this contest.

1st Sauce

2nd Ribs (5 1/2 hr cook)

4th Chicken

2nd Pork Butts (shoulder) (11 hour cook)

1st Brisket (19 hr cook)

2nd in Dessert

The team had 3 hours sleep in 3 days.. Competitions like this are all about sleep depravation and focus says Jeremy.
