As summer draws to a close and we have time to reflect over the last couple of months, we look back with enjoyment as we’ve had another cracking season when we saw record numbers of people at Hobbs when the sun was shining.  Over the summer, we welcomed back Norman Cook and Zoe Ball, James Cracknell popped in to visit and we even had Bruce Dickinson from Iron Maiden on board!  We really enjoyed hosting the Breakfast show with BBC Radio Berkshire's Maggie Philbin one early August morning when we had most stunning sunrise!  For the third year running, Hobbs of Henley were the official River Taxi providers for the ever popular Rewind Festival. Henley saw swarms of eighties revivalists flock to our beautiful town in scorching sunshine and thousands of festival goers used the river to get there and back.  We received many thank you letters from people who used our services saying that the river taxis helped enhance the whole festival experience. We look forward to working with the organisers again in 2012.

Over the summer months, we have also ran a couple of competitions.  Karen Howells won a twelve seater boat for the day with her winning poem based on 'what do you love about Henley' and Rebecca Dixon was the winner of our competition in the Henley Standard and they won two tickets to the Roger Winslet Jazz Cruise at the end of September.   Our current competition is one for the kids!  Please visit our website for full details.

Summer crept back for a few days in late September which left us rushed off our feet which enabled our boat hire season to finish with a bang.

We were very excited to be working alongside the organisers of Challenge Henley Triathlon, a new event for Henley which took place during September.   Hobbs provided River Taxis for spectators and competitors . The event was deemed to be a huge success by the competitors and the locals in Henley.  We hope to see this event back next year and will continue to help with River Taxis supporting this great event addition to the Henley events calendar.

Set sail to see Santa as due to popular demand, this year we are doubling our amount of Santa Cruises and are pleased to announce a new feature for 2011 ‘Fred in the Shed’ will be adding some magic to the childrens entertainment.  These cruises proved to be hugely popular in previous years so do book early to avoid disappointment.  Visit our website for more details, or contact us on 01491 572 035 to book tickets.  Don't forget to look at our competition page for your chance to win tickets!

Party in style for the festive season  as  our Christmas Party Nights are back this year and are becoming more and more popular for smaller groups to have a shared Christmas Party Night out.  This year we've put together a real cracker of a night out for you with your choice of buffet or sit down meal, festive disco and a complimentary glass of wine.  If this sounds like your kind of night, then please visit our website for more information and details of our early bird booking offer!

Even though the summer season has come to a close, there is still loads happening at Hobbs, so if you have any enquiries, then please do call us on 01491 572 035 or visit our website for more information.  Don't forget our Santa Cruises for the kids as well as our Christmas party nights!
