Wildlife charity thanks local businesses

Last week my business – Claire Dee Communications – co-sponsored an exclusive business networking and shopping event held by Surrey Wildlife Trust (SWT) for local companies to thank them for their ongoing support.

As a gold corporate partner of the trust, I was delighted to support such a worthy cause.  SWT is a registered charity and the only organisation concerned solely with the conservation of all forms of wildlife in Surrey.

The event was also sponsored and hosted by the Guildford branch of national outdoor clothing specialists, Rohan, and attracted over 30 people who enjoyed drinks, nibbles and the chance to save 10% on all Rohan shop purchases.

Ron Pritchard, the trust’s chairman, said of the evening:

“The event was a great success and the perfect way for Surrey Wildlife Trust to say thank you to its corporate supporters.  During 2010 alone 351 volunteers from 15 companies took part in our teambuilding away-days helping preserve and enhance local habitats.  They have also contributed towards minibuses, donated tools, given time and money and much, much more.  Their help and support is vital to our work.”

A number of local companies attended the event including our very own thebestofguildford.
