Voting in Guildford – make your mark

With the general election now only days away, Guildford Borough Council is making sure that voters have all the information they need to cast their vote on Thursday (6 May).

Richard Lingard, acting returning officer for Guildford, says:

“All polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm so that local residents can vote whenever is most convenient for them.  Your poll card will tell you where your polling station is, and there will be staff there to answer your questions or provide you with any special assistance you may need to cast your vote.”

Phillippa Saray, regional manager from the Electoral Commission, the independent elections watchdog, adds:

“The UK Parliament makes decisions which affect our everyday lives and this is your chance to have a say on who represents you in Westminster, so don’t let anything stop you.”
