Last week, courtesy of Surrey Chambers of Commerce, I attended the annual Toast of Surrey Business Awards event at Guildford’s Yvonne Arnaud Theatre.
Around 200 people enjoyed a fabulous black tie evening celebrating all that is great and good about the local business community. And there was plenty to celebrate, with award winners ranging from new start-ups to SMEs and large established corporates.
In these difficult and occasionally turbulent times, it was refreshing to be a part of an event full to bursting with inspirational and successful business people. An excellent example of why Surrey and the south east really is the engine room of the UK economy. And, it would seem, the tighter the situation these companies find themselves in the more determined they are to grow and flourish.
