‘Planning for Christmas at Veritas starts around July so by the time November arrives I’m not always in the mood for spending a long time looking for gifts. That’s why I prefer to shop locally with businesses that I know and trust.
My first port of call is usually Just Champagne; they are based at Ranmore and are always full of great ideas for my husbands present. Their website www.justchampagne.co.uk is packed with special offers too.
Serenity on Station Parade in East Horsley offers a wonderful range of pampering treatments and I know that any of my friends would really appreciate an hour with Sue and her great team.
My sister is always quite easy to shop for, she is such a big fan of Veritas that I cannot really go wrong, this year I’ll be choosing something from our brand new jewellery collection; it can all be seen on our website www.veritasgifts.co.uk
Friends’ children can be a little trickier but luckily this year I have a couple that are learning to drive so a few gift vouchers from Sarah at Pitstops Driving School in Guildford will do the trick. Sarah specialises in helping brand new or nervous drivers and really takes time to get to know her pupils.
Beverley’s Floral Designs in Bookham do the most fabulous arrangements and it’s great to know that we have such a wonderful florist practically on our doorstep particularly for any last minute gifts.
Finally I’ll be going into Guildford to finish off my shopping and one treat for myself, a visit to m.Brasserie at The Mandolay Hotel on London Road. The food is brilliant and of course it is so close to the shops I can leave the car at the hotel and walk into town. Perfect.’’
