Bar des Arts is hosting its next poetry evening on Tuesday, March 18 from 8pm.

Graham Goddard, otherwise known as ‘Oh Standfast’ will be visiting the bar straight from the poetry circuit of East London to present his zany commentary on modern life.

Up-and-coming performer Antosh Wojcik, who has been working the circuit for the past two years, will also take to the stage. He comes to us fresh from shows at the Round House in London with the title of Roundhouse Poetry Slam Champion for 2013.

Ingrid Andrew, who is the Founder and Director of Survivor’s Poetry, which is a survivor-led arts group that uses poetry to make connections between creativity and mental health, will also be reading her poetry on-stage.

As well as hearing the guest poets perform people are also encouraged to sign up to read their own works. Anyone who would like to get on-stage on the night should email Janice Windle or Dónall Dempsey, who will be hosting the evening, via popupoetry@gmail.com. Performers should arrive at 7pm on the night.

Entry to the poetry evening is free, but booking is advisable and can be done by calling the bar on 01483 453227.
