Olympic Cycling near Guildford

The Olympic Cycling Road Race will be taking place this weekend, 28th and 29th July, in the Guildford area!

While spectators will need tickets to watch in the Mall in London and on some stretches of the Box Hill circuit, cycling and Olympic enthusiasts can watch for free anywhere else on the route. Click here for a map of the route.

 

Grab your camera, don your hat, fill up a water bottle (and don't forget your common sense!) - this is going to be a very exciting weekend!

Whether or not you're planning to go and watch, don't get caught out by the road closures! The following roads in Guildford  will be closed this weekend:

A25 Dorking Road (Gomshall to Abinger Hammer) the entire length 

A25 Shere Road (Shere to Gomshall) from Combe Lane to Station Road 

A25 Station Road (Gomshall) the entire length 

Combe Lane (Shere) from Staple Lane to A25 Shere Road 

Epsom Road (West Horsley to East Clandon) from The Street (including the roundabout) to Staple Lane 

High Street (Ripley) from Newark Lane to Rose Lane 

Ripley Lane (Ripley to West Horsley) the entire length 

Rose Lane (Ripley) the entire length 

Staple Lane (East Clandon to Shere) the entire length 

The Street (West Horsley) from Ripley Lane to Epsom Road
