Guildford shoppers will be pleased to see the completed first phase of improvements to the North Street area. The Environmental Projects team have complemented and enhanced the existing street scene with improved lighting, new benches, paving and planters as part of Surrey County Councils footways maintenance programme, funded in part by private developers working in Guildford.
There are more improvements to come in the New Year, including more seating around Market Street and attention to the stepped areas. The Environmental Projects team intend that disruption to shoppers, shops and businesses should be kept to a mimimum and that the new street furniture will benefit everyone.
