Want to check recycling collection dates, book an event or report fly-tipping? Then visit the new Guildford Borough Council website http://www.guildford.gov.uk where information is easier to find with better access for people with disabilities.

Guildford Borough Council leader, Cllr Tony Rooth, says:

"Our website receives four million page-views each year and provides a range of important information and services for our residents, visitors and local businesses.  Our priority is to provide services that are cost-effective and value for money for residents.  By investing in a new website now, we can offer more efficient and wide-ranging services available to more people all day every day.  This will also help produce significant cost savings in the future.”

The new Your Guildford section offers residents the opportunity to personalise online services.  By typing in their postcode they will receive a range of information specific to their area including waste collection dates, contact details for local councillors and information on planning restrictions nearby.

Other improvements include a new events calendar, videos and online polls and the systems and procedures behind the scenes are also improved helping the council to develop the website easily and efficiently in the future.
