Fittingly for its Opening Season, G Live has secured one of the world’s great orchestras and one of the world’s top conductors. London Symphony Orchestra will perform under the baton of its Principal Conductor, Valery Gergiev. To make this very special occasion complete, Piano Concerto No. 1 will be performed by the winner of the 2011 Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition, which took place in Moscow and St Petersburg in July.
Valery Gergiev’s partnership with London Symphony Orchestra has attracted international acclaim, and it is particularly fortunate that for this concert, Valery Gergiev will be leading the orchestra in a programme devoted to the greatest romantic composer of his homeland, Tchaikovsky.
