Last week of the holidays at Polesden Lacey

The summer holidays are nearly over but there's still time to get to Polesden Lacey!

There's been a different trail each week over the holiday and there's still the last one to explore. Borrow some binoculars for free and see how many butterflies, birds and other wildlife you can spot as you ramble around in the 1,400 acre grounds. Help the rangers by listening out for cuckoos - the species is in sad decline so the rangers would love to know if you've heard one!

But Polesden Lacey is more than just a nature walk. The Grevilles, Polesden Lacey's former inhabitants, were great art collectors and some of the collection is displayed throughout the house. I've found a looking at a few pictures in between bouts of hurtling around outside is a great way to introduce my children to art history -  your family might enjoy it too!

Back outside again and off to Squirrels Corner, Polesden Lacey's adventure playground. Have your picnic in a beautiful spot and then you might like to go and visit the chickens! Polesden Lacey is a great place for a family day out...and best of all, kids go free until 31 August! Just click here for the National Trust Kids Go Free voucher.
