How to have a happy half-term - Toys and Games in Guildford

Although the kids have only just gone back to school, unbelievably half-term is only 10 days away! If you spent a fortune trying to keep them entertained and happy during the last long break, the good news is this time you only have a week to fill.

One of the best ways to keep younger children entertained on those days you just can't get out, is to have friends round for a playdate. Kids love showing off their toys and games, pets and even sometimes siblings!

To make it more exciting, new toys are always a hit... but rather than splashing out on expensive new playthings, consider buying good quality secondhand, that way you can have a supply of toys without breaking the bank, and then sell them on afterwards if they are still in one piece! For indoor play, as well as toys & games, dressing up is great fun, especially if you have a selection of outfits for the kids to swap round. If the weather is good there are lots of inventive outdoor toys now available, have you seen a swaycar, ridden on rollerblades or taken up tennis with a special kids racket?

Many of the items sold on Victoria's Market are unwanted gifts, so brand new, and the secondhand items have been carefully selected. New stock is added at least twice a week, so keep checking back. Have a look at the Entertainment section of the website at

and I wish you a happy half-term!
