Include your core, get results faster!

Specifically training your abdominals for half of your workout is a complete waste of time, is not functional and can lead to poor posture over time. I understand that people want great abs especially coming up to summer but you have to remember and cannot reduce body fat in one specific area. Because of this, your time is better spent focusing on a whole body workout that will help burn the fat, and at the same time engages the core muscles

The core muscles are divided into two. The stabilisation muscles which are deep and surround the spine, and the movement muscles which are more superficial and move the spine. These areas are important for controlling your stability and posture which is why people with good posture’s, tend to have a good core.

So here is the workout: When performing each exercise, focus on slow controlled repetitions and engage those core muscles.

Deadlifts 3 x 15-20 reps

Reverse Woodchop 3 x 15 -20 reps each side

Dumbell squat to press 3 x 20

Press ups onto a fitball 3 x 10

Alternate leg Lunges with Medicine ball twist 3 x 20

Plank 1 x 1 minute

Fat burn Circuit: Perform each exercise for 20 seconds, with a 10 second rest. Continue for 4 minutes.

Standing Squats

Alternate leg crucnch

Moutain climbers

Burpees
