Guildford Borough Council is inviting local residents and businesses to have their say on the future of the local economy.

The Draft Economic Strategy for Guildford, drawn up by Guildford Borough Council after widespread consultation with local businesses and groups, provides the framework for the future shape of the local economic landscape.

It also identifies opportunities for the council to work with partners to help develop the economy over the next 15 years.

Cllr Tony Rooth, leader of the council says:

"The Draft Economic Strategy is a vital ingredient in the future success of our borough.  We plan to support and develop Guildford's key strengths which include scientific and pharmaceutical industries, as well as nurturing manufacturing companies and rural businesses.  We want to hear what local people think, so let us have your suggestions on how we can help grow our local economy."

The consultation began on 22 October and will run for 12 weeks.  Local residents and businesses can send in their views by email or post or complete the form on the Guildford Borough Council website.
