Guildford Means Business – where are you going to park?

If you’re planning to drive to Guildford Means Business, you’ll be pleased to hear that Guildford is positively bristling with car parks. They are all council-run and all charge £1.20 per hour. Some of the street parking has time restrictions – On North Street you are limited to half an hour’s parking and outside the Britannia pub (again, council-run – don’t treat it as a pub car park!) you are limited to two hours.

One of these car parks is at GLive itself but please note it is run by Guildford council, not GLive, so you have to pay the usual car parking charge. Those of you with electric vehicles are entitled to a discount in most off street car parks while the bikers amongst you are entitled to park for free at Bedford Road, Commercial Road, Millbrook and the Old Police Station.

Guildford also runs a Park and Ride scheme. Simply park for FREE at the dedicated car parks at Merrow, Artington or the Spectrum then buy a return bus ticket for £2.40 (or less, depending on which free car park you start from). Buses leave approximately every fifteen minutes with journey times approximately ten minutes. This is the cheapest option if you’re planning to be in Guildford for more than two hours.

For all car parking information and details of the Park and Ride, please visit the Guildford Council website.
