This coming Wednesday (12 May) I am off to the Grow Your Business exhibition at the Guildford Spectrum Leisure Complex.
Now in its third successful year, the event provides a great opportunity to meet like-minded businesses and individuals and gain valuable knowledge via the many seminars and 1-2-1 clinics on offer.
As a local business owner I am particularly interested in the Business Breakfast event being organised by Guildford Borough Council which will offer a preview of the plans for Guildford’s economic future and advice and insight for the local business community.
Keith Churchouse, president of the Guildford Committee of Surrey Chambers of Commerce, will give a presentation on the local business environment after the general election and the influence local businesses can make by getting involved. And Guildford Council’s business and tourism manager, Chris Howard, will be discussing the development of Guildford’s new economic strategy.
Chris Howard comments: “This is a great opportunity to discuss our plans for Guildford with an audience of local business people. We are using the results of an extensive economic study carried out by the Council together with the Guildford Business Forum and the University of Surrey to create a new economic strategy for the area. The strategy will identify key projects and policies we need to pursue to maintain our competitive edge.”
