Over 200 chemical compounds (about the same as aloe vera but then they are related)
Vitamins A, B, C and E, and the minerals potassium, phosphorus, calcium, sodium, and iron.
Volatile oil with sulphur-containing compounds: (allicin, alliin, and ajoene),
Enzymes: (allinase, peroxidase and myrosinase).
Citral, geraniol, linalool, Aphellandrene and B phellandrene.

Health benefits
Garlic is known to be beneficial for:
Prevention of heart disease, cancer and diabetes.
Great for high blood pressure, high cholesterol and certain types of cancer (stomach and colon).
Weight loss. The allicin in garlic suppresses appetite as it gives the brain signals of satiety. It increases metabolism by stimulating the nervous system to release adrenalin.
