Elf – charity screenings at the Lighthouse in Woking

One of my friends was disappointed that none of the UK TV channels were going to be showing Elf this Christmas. The Christmas comedy starring Will Ferrell was first released ten years ago and continues to delight viewers of all ages. Over in Woking (and Guildford!) we don’t have to be sad that we can’t watch it at home – we can go and see it at the Lighthouse’s pop up cinema on Friday 20 December!

The Lighthouse is a branch of Woking’s Vineyard Church, offering support to individuals and families who are homeless or on low incomes. The Lighthouse is a work space for the church’s charity work, providing not only offices but also space for counselling and creative projects. It houses Jigsaw where families on low incomes and those fleeing domestic abuse can collect much-needed clothes, toys and equipment for their young children. Woking Vineyard also hopes to hold training sessions there to give homeless people and recovering addicts the skills to help get their lives back on track.

As you can see, the Lighthouse is an excellent cause and all proceeds from the Elf screenings will go to help its vital work.  Tickets are £3.50 for children and £4.50 for adults and you can book by emailing lighthousecinema@mail.com
