· The average age of a man at divorce in 2008 was 43.9, and for a woman 41.4 years
· One in five men and women divorcing in 2008 had a previous marriage ending in divorce
· Approximately 240,000 individuals divorce each year (121,779 divorces in England and Wales in 2008).
· The age group with the highest divorce rate is people in their late twenties
