Feeling refreshed after a lovely 3 nights away.
Our room was perfect with a small balcony and spectacular views.
We were greeted by Suzy and Marco on reception. They were very professional and all our needs catered for. Even opened the cinema for us to watch a movie and provided complimentary popcorn.
Peter and Paolo picked us up from the airport and ripped us off and picked us up from town during the days. Great service and really adds to the holiday.
We had breakfast every morning which was delicious. Staff worked extremely hard but completely understand that they are short staffed but we were in no rush.
Only disappointment was that the Rock Garden was closed on the night we booked due to being short staffed. Completely understand as I have a hotel and it can be a nightmare at the moment.
Hotel is beautiful and we will hopefully be back again soon.
Staff are a credit to the hotel!

This is a mixed review. We (a family of 2 adults and 4 children) stayed here for 4 nights in August 2021.

We booked two of the most expensive (Platinum) rooms.

The good: Courtesy shuttle bus around the island (needs to be pre-booked). Very friendly and helpful drivers. Service mainly very good. Nice ladies and gentleman on reception. Standard of food good. We enjoyed a nice meal at their Mexican restaurant, Buho, which was family friendly. Good pool which the children enjoyed in the evening. Staff were in the main very attentive - for example, my stepdaughter left her cuddly toy in the room and the hotel phoned and posted it back to us in England. The head of housekeeping also very kindly out my 2 year old daughter’s sleepsac in the washing machine and returned it dry that evening after my daughter had an “accident” during the night.

The less good: Despite booking two Platinum rooms, the bathroom in one of them was very small and did not have a separate shower as advertised. This may seem pernickety but when you pay over £500 per night for two of the best rooms, you expect the rooms to be as advertised. Our 2 year old daughter’s cot was very creaky and old, to the point where it kept me awake the first night because it made a dreadful noise every time she rolled over. You’d not expect them to be using knackered old travel cots. A minority of staff had a strange and, at times, “no can do” attitude. For example, at breakfast one morning my wife asked for the smoked salmon in her Eggs Benedict to be heated / grilled. Not the usual way to eat it, of course, but this is how she likes it. The waiter was very supercilious about her request and basically said she could not have it cooked as that’s not how you eat smoked salmon. This, of course, was not the right answer and was almost offensive. The waiter was just being awkward for no apparent reason apart from that he thought he knew better. On another occasion, when I asked for a table for dinner, I was told that there were unlikely any tables left as I had not booked. The lady dealing with the request said “this is why I emailed you to ask you if you wanted to make any dinner reservations but you didn’t come back to me”. Again, a somewhat “told you so” attitude which I regard to be unnecessary and inappropriate when addressing a customer, whatever your personal thoughts about the matter.

We complained about the cot, the bathroom and a couple of other matters. The hotel general manager made himself personally available to speak with us and he did sort the issues out and gave us a small discount and send up a nice bottle of wine to our room as an apology.

Overall, the hotel was of a good standard with generally polite and helpful staff, but a few niggles let down the overall experience. Whilst I accept I may sound pernickety, I spent a little over £2,000 over 4 nights so one does expect a first class service at this sort of price.

5 nights and was not a disappointment at all. The platinum room was amazing and the views did not disappoint.

The staff are so friendly and the service amazing. Fermain bay is only a short walk away ...downhill, just be prepared to walk back up again. What a nice place to chill and enjoy the sound of the water.

When a hotel claims to have 3 restaurants one is always a disappointment but at fermain they were all brilliant. Ocean is a more relaxed place with buho their mexican restaurant offering up some of the best food we have had. The rock garden was also amazing. Our favourite was easily buho but make sure you reserve your seat in advance.

The hotel also offers free shuttle services into town and pick up too.

All in all fermain was an amazing place to stay and explore everything guernsey has to offer.

Oh and if you are thinking of hopping off island to herm or sark, the hotel shuttle will drop you off at the terminal and pick you up too.

Spent two lovely weeks here at the end of July beginning of August. We stayed in Gold room which had a balcony with a particularly nice view looking down the valley towards the sea.
We really enjoyed our breakfasts which were served in the Ocean restaurant and offered a wide choice. My advice to anyone thinking of staying here would be to try and book evening meals at the restaurants in advance as they are very popular particularly the Rock Garden which serves sumptuous steaks.
The staff here go above and beyond its obvious due to current problems they are understaffed but they were friendly and went out of their way to look after the guests.
There is a shuttle service run by the hotel which takes guests into town which we used a number of times. Both of the drivers Peter and Paolo were courteous and always on time.
We enjoyed our walk down to Fermain beach where there is a lovely café which serves Poretti beer and delicious ice cream
The walk back is a bit strenuous but it can be done if you take your time.
All in all we had a relaxing holiday and it was pleasing to spend time in this wonderful oasis

I can thoroughly recommend this hotel as a place to stay. My room was lovely, the staff can not do enough for you and the food was great. We had a room with a sea view but no balcony. The rooms with a balcony overlook the woodland.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff awesome, friendly and helpful and the location perfect. We sampled each restaurant and liked them all. Whatever you’re in the mood for, this place has it. We walked down to Fermain Bay, explored the trails both ways and ate and drank at the beach club. I highly recommend!

Recently had a 4 night stay with family at the Fermain. Gold room with balcony. Have stayed here many times but this time all the staff were exceptional in their helpfulness and attention to detail. The cleaning staff were superb.
My only comment would be that when refurbishment takes place please replace baths with walk in showers. Otherwise a great experience.

Very helpful staff and great service! Suzi and Catia in reception are particularly worthy of a mention for going the extra mile.
Our room was very comfortable and quiet with a lovely view from the balcony.
It was a shame that one of the restaurants was not available for evening meals.
If you are visiting Guernsey for the first time be aware of the combination of fast cars and narrow roads!

Stayed at the hotel between 06-09-2021 until the 11th in room 48. This was in the annexe overlooking the car park and the roadway. The room was very well decorated, clean and had everything that was required for our stay. On the first night reception staff managed to book us into the Buho restaurant one of three on-site. Food and service was excellent. The only problem we had during our stay was being told we had to book for the eating venues. Normally we never book an evening meal as exploring the island during the day brings us back whenever we decide, so not knowing what time doesn’t help. Anyhow we found the breakfast meals very filling and a great variety of food. Again service was excellent. You couldn’t fault the staff throughout the complex everyone was brilliant. Our room was cleaned and restocked to a high level. This was our first visit to his hotel and was recommended by friends, will definitely go back even though we have visited the island on 10 occasions. To further add the gardens and the swimming pool were excellent, with the pool open until 2300hrs. There is a walk through the bottom gardens which goes down to Fermain bay and is well worth the effort, particularly at sunset.

Stayed here for a 6 night stay in September and had a fantastic time throughout the visit. The setting for the hotel overlooking the bay is delightful and gives a restful view of the sea. Our room was large and well appointed as well as being quiet and restful. Breakfast was tasty and nicely presented - wish we could have eaten outside though as it was certainly warm enough (for us at least). Also ate in Buho and The Rock during our visit and enjoyed both of these. Staff were friendly and helpful during our visit - just waiting for accounts to sort an issue with a voucher that we had and things will be just perfect. We will certainly stay here again when we next visit and Highly recommend this place.
