We took all our family, including five grandsons ,to Fermain Valley last week for my wife's 70th birthday, and it lived up to all our expectations ,and in some cases exceeded them. The rooms were beautiful and extremely comfortable, with great views over Fermain Bay,and the front of house staff really helpful. We ate in the Rock Garden Restaurant one evening and had a superb dinner.

We were a party of eleven aged from 3 to 73,which I appreciate presents some challenges, and on the whole they were handled very well. However, while the food in the Ocean Restaurant was really good, the service was sometimes rather confused and not perhaps as polished as it should have been.and there seemed to be a lack of communication between the waiting staff and the kitchen.

That said,I would happily stay at Fermain Valley again, but with a smaller party !

My daughter and son in law had their wedding at the venue which is attached to the hotel also both my daughters stayed the night before and myself and the bridesmaids got ready in the room. The staff were brilliant, nothing was to much trouble. The staff in the hotel did everything to make sure we had everything we needed and they always had a smile on their faces. At the venue the wedding was perfect and again nothing was to much trouble. I would recomend both the hotel and venue to anyone who wants to be treated like royalty. Thank you for a great magical day

We had a wonderful 3 day stay. The room was fantastic the view of the bay superb. The food was very good too.
Most of all I would like to praise the staff for their kindness and understanding, particularly Reception. Nothing was too much trouble. We certainly look forward to our next visit. Thank you all.

Had a one night stay here recently. Arrived in the pouring rain to reception and unfortunately our rooms were back up near the top of the road. Receptionist took us on what she said was a little walk.. Was a little further with luggage and rain. However rooms were nice, comfortable, complimentary chocolates, fruit, good tea and coffee plus sherry were a nice touch. White company noir toiletries. Slept very well. Breakfast was ok except a little disorganised and they seemed to have a bit of a fly issue. Nice pool, views of the sea.. Would come back here.

Excellent hotel in great position. Took my mum as she had always wanted to go to guernsey. We were not disappointed, the staff were lovely and friendly and they could not have been more helpful. My mum could not walk very far so they took us down to the bay and brought us back up. Which was very much appreciated.

Stayed here August with three other couples as a group booking for two nights. Rooms .were lovely, clean and well appointed. We used the pool, unfortunatley the sauna was not switched on although we had asked at reception for it to be made ready.
We booked a table in the on site restaurant at 8 o'clock. We were told that the signature dish was not available as well as three other things on the menu. We ordered our food at about 8.30ish. We did not receive the starter until 10pm and then they were wrong. The seafood platter rather than having lobster had oysters and cheese ????? We were told by the unhelpful and hostile female restaurant manager they had run out of lobster. Starters were sent back and it was nearly 11pm before mains were brought. Other (mainly French) people had eaten all three courses with coffee and left during the time we were still waiting for our starter. We managed to speak to the chef de partie who said the chef himself would not come out. This hotel is lovely but the service and staff in the restaurant are both awful. Stay by all means but my advise is don't eat there.

We first visited Fermain Valley Hotel in 2007 with a baby and had a very memorable stay so this summer we returned to Guernsey and booked 4 nights in a Platinum Room. We now have a much bigger 8 year old and her 5 year old brother. We were able to all stay in the very comfortable, generously sized room all all had super comfy beds with great views out to sea.
The hotel was just as lovely as we remembered, booking was no problem and all the hotel staff were incredibly helpful, nothing was too much trouble.

Our children particularly loved the pool (of course) and the huge cinema room. We all loved the delicious breakfasts ..so much choice !..and had great fun in the library after breakfast each day playing knockout games of Connect 4 !.

We greatly admired the newly landscaped gardens which are stunning, the walk through the gardens and down into Fermain Bay could not be more picturesque ? Well done to the landscapers who have created a really gorgeous garden with inspired planting.

By the way, Fermain Bay just happens to have the best rock pooling combined with the best ice-creams ever..our kids were in heaven.

We'll be back as soon as we can !!

Many thanks
The Ashley Family

This hotel is truly wonderful. The location, staff and food are as good as it gets. Gold rooms 30-33 have beautiful valley views. We stayed in room 32. Although not a big room it had a big balcony with a lovely view and was spotless. There are two restaurants one general for all meals. The fish was excellent. The other specialises in meat from around the world. We did not try that so cannot comment. Breakfast covered everything. You will not go hungry. The outside is very popular with visitors they cannot resist the view and they pass the hotel on the walk down to the fantastic bay. The only minus we found was the cooking smell that sometimes drifted up the rooms. Maybe redirecting the extractors could solve this problem. That being the case it would most definitely not stop us from staying again.

My friend and I chose this hotel above others as we thought the location looked stunning and would be worth paying a bit more for - we weren't disappointed! We were also pleased with the extremely professional, friendly staff who were polite and attentive without gushing over us. An error in our room being a double instead of a twin was resolved very quickly. The hotel has excellent facilities: two bars, a swimming pool and shuttle service (which we only used to go to the airport) amongst other things. The food in the restaurant was delicious and there was a variety of choice for breakfast. The complimentary glass of Prosecco on arrival was very welcome after our early start and our room, which had a fabulous view of the stunning hotel gardens, was spotlessly clean and well equipped with essentials like water and a hairdryer. The decanter of sherry was quite quaint but we indulged nonetheless! We were on the top floor so it was also very quiet which was important to us. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is planning a trip.

The hotel faces the sea and as such has a lovely outlook over the terraced gardens below.

We paid for a slightly better room. The room itself was ok, a little dated and arguably in need some TLC. Examples would be the side tables with cup/glass ring marks. The bathroom wasn't up to much either I'm afraid.

The one overriding issue despite this being one of their newer rooms, there was no air conditioning. It really does need it, the room gets very warm and you have to open the French doors that lead to he balcony to let some air in and make it bearable. A feature that is lees than secure and not the ideal solution.

We only had breakfast in the hotel but it was very good. Not a huge selection from the buffet/continental selection but it was just fine. The hot selection off the menu was very good, between the two couples staying we probably tried most options over the three days and all was good.

The restaurant itself is well presented, nice modern decor with a slightly nautical theme.

We didn't eat in the steak restaurant owing to us eating around the island but it looked to be a popular option.

The hotel itself is well located for St Peter Port.

We walked down the hill to the waters edge and the cafe down their has a fabulous view out over the little bay. We walked from the hotel around the coastal paths from the cafe, well worth doing for the views but be prepared for lots of steps, etc. along the way.

We probably stay again if we go to Guernsey but the room we stayed in would benefit from some care and attention.
