we spent four nights at the St Pierre Park Hotel in September. From the reception staff when we booked in everyone was very pleasant and helpful. The grounds are lovely to walk around.Bedrooms were very comfortable the only thing that was lacking was that there was no fridge in the room which I found unusual in a 4 star hotel.Flavio the restaurant manager really made our breakfast times very entertaining, especially making my poached eggs each morning!!!Would certainly stay again and recommend it to other people.

A beautiful hotel in lovely surroundings, we had a three night stay and thoroughly enjoyed every moment.
Our room was well presented, the beds comfortable, with plumptious pillows! We slept extremely well in peaceful surroundings.
Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, service good and all staff very friendly and helpful.
We had the swimming pool to ourselves, and would have liked to stay longer.

Stayed here for 2 nights for an RAF Squadron Association reunion. The rooms were spacious, the bed large and comfortable with 3 large pillows each. The decor was good throughout the hotel.
Being a reunion most of food we had during the weekend was taken at the hotel. The Friday evening buffet contained both hot and cold food including lasagne, pork stroganoff, grilled mullet along with various salads, vegetables and potatoes.
The Saturday reunion dinner I had a crab and avocado tian, this was extremely tasty. Mains was roast saddle of lamb with potatoes and veg, again very tasty. The meal ended with vanilla panne cotte with a spiced plum compote again lovely.
The reunion finished with Sunday lunch - a fine selection of roast meats - beef, Turkey, lamb, pork and fish. Various vegetables and potatoes. A large selection of deserts ended the lunch.
The only little comment I can make is the cost of the wine, it seemed a bit pricy but then this is a 4* hotel.
We finished a stay here with a visit to the swimming pool and spa. The only comment I can make about this is the sauna and steam rooms are in the separate male and female changing rooms so you can't continue your conversation with your partner.
All in all this was a really nice hotel and although fairly expensive was well worth the money and the customer service was exceptional.

Had a wonderful weeks holiday in this lovely hotel. We had a room on the second floor just above reception. The room had a small balcony with a table but could only fit one person out there at a time. Being above reception at times when we had the patio doors open it could be noisy but generally it did not bother us. The nice thing was that being on the second floor meant that at the weekend when there are wedding parties you are not kept awake by the noise from the evening reception, I know some people in other rooms did have problems with noise.
The hotel has a lovely view over the lake from the back of the hotel and the rooms at the back of the hotel do have lovely views but our room was quite adequate when I am on holiday I do not want to spend too much time in an hotel room. As long as the room is clean and comfortable and I can get a good nights sleep that is what matters, and this room fulfilled these needs.
We stayed on the half board option and ate in the restuarants every night except one and the food was great and the staff were really lovely and attentive. One night we ate in the bar and have to say we were very disappointed with the meal that night. All the hotel staff we met were polite and helpful.
We did not use our car at all the week we stayed we used the amazing bus service to get us around, the hotel is on a main bus route with buses every 15 minutes costing £1 a journey so it's easier just to get a bus to get around. The hotel is a little way out of St. Peter Port and although I don't mind walking it is quite a trek into town.
I would defiantly recommend this hotel it has a lovely bar area to sit and relax in although the drinks are a little pricey, but overall we had a lovely relaxing holiday.

We stayed here for the first time after many holidays in Guernsey, the hotel is very good. There are a couple of things to consider before you choose this hotel. It is about a 30 minute walk to central St. Peter Port, mainly down hill, this can be a problem if you are without a car, it is on two bus routes the 41 and 42 both go into town and taxis are plentiful. It is both a holiday and business hotel. When we stayed there were a number of conventions going on in the hotel, this could affect a stay there. We had no problem with it. Our room was I understand a standard room. It was perfectly fine and every bit what we expected. We have stayed in many hotels that rate themselves above the Pierre Park only to be disappointed. We would stay here again.

Having visited three times previously we went back to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary with friends. The staff were very good, helpful, clean and tidy. The room overlooking the gardens and lake was spacious and appeared recently refurbished but poorly finished. Holes in the curtains, badly unfinished tiling in the bathroom, broken door, one towel and robe - we were two and although reasonably clean not fresh. Bed very good. The Victor Hugo restaurant which had a fantastic reputation was very poor indeed. Previously the food had been outstanding but honestly it was beyond disappointing. Breakfast was wonderful. . ~The Staff attentive and really the star of the hotel was the great selection. Hot and cold. Perfect. However the windows were filthy. Thread bare carpets in the lift and curtains hanging down in corridors. Dirty brass and old unclean dried floral arrangements made it seem like a deserted old hotel waiting to be shut down. Fresh flowers in the lobby although someone when delivering had forgotten to take the dead and smelling ones away. The bar area with its two large TV screens which are on day and night constantly playing news one end and sport the other are a total nightmare. There is no where to sit quietly and have a drink or read the papers. To eat in the area you have to either climb up on to the two high stool tables or indeed eat off coffee tables. Its absolutely stupid. The velour covered sofas and chairs are dirty. Sticky in fact. Quite appalling. Please note that my family and i having visited before really can see the hotel in a true perspective. Having been here during all the seasons and at one time over the christmas period we can only say that if action is not taken soon the St pierre Park hotel will be lost as the beautiful hotel it once was forever.

Having visited Guernsey several times before and staying at various hotels I decided this time to choose St Pierre Park. I expected a slightly higher standard than at previous hotels but wow was I surprised. It was first class and could not find fault with anything. The room came above expectations and the breakfast was fantastic with such a choice and to have the dining room overlooking the lake was a bonus. The staff were always pleasant and helpful. The leisure facilities were also very good but the swimming pool could have been a bit warmer for my liking. Unfortunately I did not have time to enjoy any of the pampering as it was fully booked and I was only there for a couple of days. \i would certainly recommend this hotel.

Stayed for 3 nights for a Reunion. The hotel offered special rates and there were about 100 of us staying. The room we occupied was a reasonable sized twin overlooking the main road so a little noisy but with the window closed you barely noticed it. We arrived quite early on the Friday afternoon but our room was ready. On the Friday evening we had a "Meet and Greet" in a private room with a separate bar and an excellent buffet with many choices which was located in a small room next door so that the main room just had the tables and meant it was easy to move about.
Breakfast everyday was a huge buffet again with a great choice not only of cooked food but cereals, pastries and fresh fruits.
We had a full dinner on the Saturday Night and again the food was delicious, very well cooked and serving staff very efficient.
The hotel had a decent swimming pool with jacuzzi and sauna and there is a golf course attached. It is only about a mile out of town and is on the bus route if you don't have a car or want to drive in to St Peter Port. There is plenty of parking at the hotel too.
We would certainly stay again if we went back to Guernsey.

Went with the good lady for a quick last minute getaway. Was looking for somewhere quiet, all the spa bits, good food and not over run with convention and business folk at breakfast, or running up and down the corridors at midnight. And I must say, it does the job nicely. Breakfast is superb, fresh buffet, proper sausages and fresh eggs or more fruit and yogurt and warm pastries than you can shake a stick at. Only served until 9.30 a.m. though, so if you're looking for a late one, it's going to be room service which again has an excellent all round menu. The breakfast room is being refurbished at the mo, but you wouldn't know it as breakfast is served in the main restaurant and there is no noise or mess, so don't let the thought of refurbishment put you off. Yes, there are conferences during the day but being a small island I guess most of the delegates go home after. As a precaution I phoned the hotel in advance and requested a quiet room, which was no bother for them and we got one. The bed was brand new, the room clean and for the entire stay, we didn't hear a thing. No banging doors, no snoring in the room next door, no chatter or running in the corridors, no flushing of toilets and no hearing the neighbors conversations..excellent. The pool is great, however I would say the changing room set up is strange and the separate male/female sauna/steam rooms disappointing, I guess if you are a looking for time away from the opposite sex it's ideal. One thing I would say, is that the website does nothing for the setting, it's lovely and peaceful set in the enclosed grounds leading from the lake up to the golf course. The golf shop and clubhouse of which is away from the hotel itself. Parking is excellent also. We went by Condor ferry from Weymouth and left the car at home. You really don't need one, the island is so well serviced by buses and at a pound a trip you really can't grumble. The bus stop is almost outside the front door (outside Waitrose which is useful) and runs every 15 mins into town (5mins). It's walkable but again you may as well jump on the bus. (Tip: If you intend taking the bus trip around the island, keep your ticket from the hotel to the main bus terminal and present it when you board the next bus around the island. You won't pay another pound. That's value!) The only criticism I did have of the hotel was that at dinner they do not ban the use of mobile phones in the formal Victor Hugo dining room. A real shame as a lovely peaceful or romantic dinner is ruined by some ignorant so and so, and the staff when asked, do nothing about it. There is a separate informal dining room area and bar in which to conduct business or chat to friends on the phone. Overall a very relaxing stay, cheerful, welcoming and very accommodating. I would recommend for business or pleasure.

I have stayed at the hotel many time on business over the past 5 years. Generally staff are polite, the rooms are a little dated and tired (the bathrooms were revamped a while back) but have seen no issues with cleanliness. Location of the rooms vary and can be quite noisy when placed at the back of the hotel (overlooking the car park) as these are close to the air con units, or those that are near to the road.

Since Hand Picked took over little changes have taken place such as irons and ironing board are now in each room, tea & coffee in the room has changed.

Breakfast is a very large selection of fruit, cereals and cooked and is of a good standard.

Having previously had negative experiences with the bar food, I have not eaten in the hotel (with the exception of breakfast), for well over a year.

As this is business I do not get an option to stay anywhere else however I am sure there are better and worse hotels in St Peter Port
