My wife & I just spent a long weekend at OGH, our first visit. Everything from arrival to departure was top rate. All the staff we encountered were extremely well trained, efficient, friendly & polite. The breakfast was very good, except for those two old bugbears, the eggs being overdone in the Eggs Benedict & the scrambled eggs. The barstaff were able to produce an acceptable gin martini, although on our first evevning they had run out of olives... The selection of gins was rather limited. These are minor quibbles. The room was well appointed (real coffee & cafetiere, top marks for that) & very nice, although the huge bed took up a lot of the room. The toiletries were of a high quality. The shower booth in the bathroom was very small, but there was also a hand hold shower in the bath. We would highly recommend the hotel, especially if you can get a special deal (we got 3 nights for the price of 2). The view from the hotel is very nice & its location very convenient for the town centre.

My wife & I firstvisited Guernsey 60 years ago, but this was our first visit to Old Government House and we were not disappointed. The staff were excellent, always polite and friendly. Food and accommodation could not be faulted. This may have been our first visit to OGH, but hopefully it will not be our last.

We stayed here a couple of years ago and it was great but now it is totally brilliant!!

The staff are so friendly and attentive and the restaurants are really special. We loved the location, the staff, our room and the entire experience.

Highly recommended.

Stayed here a few times and have never had any problems. Staff are always helpful and hotel is clean and tidy. I never feel like I'm getting value from the hotel this time was no exception as it was more than I would usually pay for a London hotel.

I ate in the restaurant which very nice. Good service and good food.

The location is actually pretty good, just a short walk up the hill from the high-street.

I've rated it average, because there isn't a "Good" category and I don't think its Really Good.

What a beautiful hotel, I was there for work and did not arrange it, but so want to go back and pay my own money to go! Well worth every penny. The location is fabulous so close to the port you can almost touch the picture postcard view! Wow what a great place.

I very stupidly left my 2 phone chargers in the room after I had checked out and Phillipa on the front desk, was fantastic. She arranged for them to be dropped off to me in guernsey as part of another journey they were doing. Now that is service. Thank you For being so helpful and loved the hotel! Will come back personally soon.

Meeting with old school friends from many years gone by, we all have fond memories of Guernsey and wanted to meet in the centre of the island. Having stayed at this hotel previously, we were yet again delighted with the hotel. The staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The food and ambience in the restaurant were superb. The location of the hotel is ideal for being able to wander out for a short walk as long as you are aware there is a steep hill to be climbed! All in all I would highly recommend this hotel to people of all ages for a wonderful short break.

This really must be the best hotel in Guernsey, and if there is a better one anywhere in the Channel Islands I would like to know.
Nothing is too much trouble, rooms are comfortable and service is excellent. The food is of high quality. So if I make any criticisms they are only made with complete excellence as the default.
Some rooms are not as large or have as good bathrooms as others. There are many stairs to climb, even although there is a lift to most levels and what may appear to be on the first floor , can be higher up than one numbered on the second floor. However, if a change of room is requested, the best room at the same price will be offered and kept for you, even if you are out for the day. With a high number of footmen, the costs are necessarily high and so are the prices, but when you stay in a hotel of this quality the price should be forgotten.

My wife and I enjoyed 5 nights in this delightful hotel, which is just a short walk from the harbour and shops in St Peter Port.
Our Seaview King room was spotlessly clean, had a very comfortable bed, and a bathroom having both a bath with shower head and shower cubicle.
This was our second stay at the OGH - when we were there last year the hotel had just achieved 5* status - and we can certainly confirm that this rating continues to be well deserved.
The muti-nationality staff we had contact with were all very friendly, helpful and efficient- and clearly very well trained.
Breakfast is a mix of a well stocked and extensive cold buffet, and freshly prepared cooked food if wanted - and very good indeed.
We had dinner in the Brasserie most evenings, and again there was a wide choice, with the food and service being first class.
A most enjoyable hotel!
