I booked the Alderney suite for a 4 night break nearly a year ago for our 23rd wedding anniversary, so glad I did, the suite itself was an amazing space, split into a lounge and bedroom area with en-suite bathroom facilities, side balcony, and large main balcony consisting of hot tub, sun loungers and garden furniture, all very well looked after and clean. when entering our room, we was welcomed with a bottle of champagne, basket of fruit, and little plate of chocolates, very nice touch, we also had to wait after our due 2.00pm check in time, (due to previous guests, checking out a little late), we were still in our room by 2.30, and was asked by the manager (I think), if he could by way of apologising a bottle of wine, again very nice touch (probably would have declined if we realised we already had a bottle of champagne waiting for us in our room :), all the staff were very friendly and welcoming, special thanks to Kirsten or Kristen (sorry, if I got name wrong) on reception who was very professional and fun with it, the concierge guy (Scottish, sorry did not get name) again was very friendly and helpful, as well as all the bar staff, we ate in the bar just the once, enjoyed our meals (although wifes Ribeye was a little tough), but was immediately removed from the bill, the gardens and lake area was nice and quiet to have a stroll around. We did not eat in the main restaurant as we were out most of time and ate lunches out. The hotel is close to bus stops to venture around the Island, all for £1 per journey , we were going to hire a car after a couple of days but did not feel this was necessary. all in all a lovely relaxing break, just what we were after, so thank you to all the staff who helped make this possible, defo recommend to anyone to visit here

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at St Pierre Park Hotel - the staff were fantastic and the food was lovely. The one downside was the noise from the road and the car park especially late at night when guests are leaving - I suggest you request a room facing the other way we will never again stay in the room we were allocated - room 255 - as we never had one night where our sleep was not interrupted by the racket - this was a shame as the hotel on a whole is fantastic. TV selection very, very poor

This was a wonderful hotel to stay in - nothing was too much trouble for the staff and they were all extremely courteous and went the extra mile on everything. Even though the hotel is more for adults than children, the hotel spa was luxurious and welcomed well-behaved children and the staff were wonderful with our 9 and 11 year old boys. The outdoor swimming pool was cold but set in lovely gardens. Parking was very tight around the back of the hotel but it was in a fantastic location in the heart of St Peter Port. In our eyes, this hotel totally deserves 5 stars.

We spent just three nights at the OGH after an absence of about fifteen years. The new owners have plainly spared little expense in rejuvenating this old gem. The public rooms are beautifully furnished and generate an air of calm. We dined out but noticed that the prices in the two-rosette restaurant are high. The brasserie prices looked much more manageable and, judging by the splendid breakfasts and lunchtime snacks, is of high standard. Our bedroom (312) was of the basic variety (there is a wide choice) and was small but splendidly fitted and furnished. The bathroom was brand-nrew and immacuilate. There's an excellent gym and spa. Kindly staff abound. We paid £480 for three nights and felt we had good value. Just one moan - the outdoor pool is small with too few loungers for the number of guests. We arrived at lunchtime on a lovely sunny day, just wanting to lie and read. There was a body or a towel on every lounger. The managements have promised to seek to address this.

This hotel is a wonderful and relaxing place to stay. Rooms are clean and well furnished and designed. Food is of a very high standard. All the staff are courteous and very caring, looking after everyone's needs. They certainly take a great deal of pride in their work. Do not miss out on this hotel, convenient to shops and restaurants.

Just returned from a 3 night break at the OGH as an extended family group over 4 generations from 8yrs to 80yrs. The whole experience from making the booking over the phone, to checking in, to departure was everything you would hope it to be from a luxury hotel. Without exception all staff were pleasant, curteous and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble and any requests or observations made to them were actioned there and then without question or fuss. Given the hotel's diverse clientel, I think it is testament to the ethos and management of the OGH, that they seem able to create an atmosphere where everyone, whatever the group dymanics or reason for their visit, is made to feel comfortable and at ease. We had 3 rooms, all in the suite or refubished category, and if you are booking for a special occasion and want something luxurious I would definitely recommend splashing out if you can. They are beautiful. Requesting a room with a view and or balcony is also advisable. Food in the Hotel, whatever we ordered and wherever we chose to have it, was excellent as was the service. Lot's of nice little touches - complimentary sweetie jars for the children, evening turn down service, our rooms were generally serviced whilst we were having b'fast, boardgames in the lounge, complimentary papers, umberellas, chocolates........... As I had advised the front desk that we were there for a special occasion we were presented with complimentary champagne and fruit platter with handwritten card aknowledging the celebration. We didn't use the Spa, but it looked fab. No indoor pool, but outside pool was set at tropical temperature - my daughter swam in the rain!!
This Hotel could be perfect, whatever hotel experience you're looking for.

Just returned from our second visit to OGH and we were not disappointed. The staff are truly oustanding and do all they can to ensure that you are made to feel welcome and at home at their wonderful hotel. Special thanks to Harry who is rightly proud of his hotel. We stayed in the Herm Suite which has a fabulous view over St Peter Port and across to Herm and it really is a magical place to watch the sun come up or go down. Our room was large and luxurious with a huge bathroom with plentiful supplies of good quality toiletries. The red carnation group have also bought the Duke of Richmond in St Peter Port and we ate there one night which was very good although for us the OGH remains THE place to stay on Guernsey and we are already planning a return trip.

We have just returned home having spent four nights at the OGH. Wonderful from the start and the staff extremely friendly and very helpful. Will definitely be returning. Very handy for the town as just a short 2 minute walk.....downhill! We had a wonderful view of the port from our room which is featured up above. The most comfortable bed in the world and we wanted to take the bathroom home with us. Would highly recommend this hotel and worth paying that little bit extra. Missed out on afternoon tea and the Indian restaurant so will have to return soon.

Just returned from OGH. Worth all of it's 5 stars without being ostentatious. Staff so very helpful, especially with my father who has mobility issues. The hotel even arranged a mobility scooter ready for his arrival. The rooms were beautiful. We were in a studio suite which was very spacious and very glamourously decorated. The bathroom was huge! We had views over towards Candie Gardens. My parents were in the Centenary Suite (house suite). This again was beautifully decorated and huge, it had fantastic sea views over the Port. The hotel was only a 2 minute walk to the High Street shops and 5 minutes to the harbour. We ate in both restaurants which were very different. The Brasserie food was more traditional, very good though, service was brilliant. The Curry House was very colonial, wonderfully decorated. All of us agreed it was the best curry we had ever eaten, well worth the money. We all had an afternoon tea which was expensive but beautifully presented and very tasty in a sumptuously decorated lounge. My son used the gym which was good. I would definitely recommend this hotel, we had a good deal with 3 nights for the price of 2.
