What is the point in offering early bird restaurant deals between 6&7 if there are no tables available as they are all booked for 7 and later! At 6.15 the restaurant was empty!!!! Not great for customer service or relations!

We stayed in the Alderney suite for one night for my birthday and loved it. We didn't really leave the room as we obviously specifically came for what the suite had to offer, more specifically the garden and jacuzzi. The staff who brought our (numerous) room service orders were really friendly and professional. The room was very comfortably kitted out. I think the decor is a tad out of date though and it was a little weird for me to see that there weren't really any toiletry supplies (there was a note saying we should contact reception for this). I also didn't think the food was great (both dinner and breakfast). However, the overall experience of our night in the suite was fantastic!

We have recently returned from Guernsey, the Hotel itself is on the outskirts of St Peter Port, definately not walking distance, even for the fit and able.

Unfortunately it is right on a very busy road and we were unlucky to be allocated a room right next to the road, which for us was extremely noisy. One of the reasons we choose this hotel was becasue it was not in the centre of St Peter Port where we thought it would be noisy.

On Arrival - we were dealt with efficiently, but not with any warmth. In fact the whole time we were there - we didn't feel particularly welcome.

The bar staff were always extremely courteous, but again, not particularly engaging.

We ate in the hotel one evening at the bar, which was OK, but the tables are to low for comfortable eating.

Our room - although noisy was very nice, very clean and well kept.

Overall - would we go back - possibly not, having stayed in Jersey at the Pomme D'or, where the staff were amazing and extremely welcoming, we now feel very let down by our experience here.

Generally, the Hotel was very good, we asked for a quiet room, and after getting used to the Air Conditioning Unit outside, its wasn't too bad, although we had to keep the balcony door shut or it would have been too noisy!. Long walk into town, and even longer back, as the first part is a very steep hill! Beakfast was very good, with plenty of choice. We ate once in the Restaurant on the Early Bird Deal and with the discount it was a reasonable price, with very nice food. The second time we ate there, there must have been a different chef.. The starter was 3 very small scallops ( The previous time we had 4 large scallops ) and the main course was and extremely small and dry piece of pork, 3 new potatoes and about half a dozen green beans. We decided not to try the desert! Very very disappointing and expensive...Didn't eat there again- most guests must have known, as both times the restaurant was practically empty!
However, the Hotel itself was fine, rooms good, beds very comfortable, grounds very quiet, staff generally friendly.

The best thing about this hotel was the very comfortable bed. There was also sparkling and still water, a nespresso machine, free wifi and a bathrobe which were nice touches. The room was generally very clean apart from an unfortunate carpet stain. The reception staff seemed efficient but weren't very friendly and my wake-up call never arrived. My only concern about my first floor room was that the balcony opened up on to a roof terrace which meant I couldn't open the patio door to cool the room down as anyone would have been able to walk right in. So as there was no air conditioning I had a rather warm and stuffy night. The breakfast was very good. A good choice on the buffet supplemented by a range of other dishes you could order. I enjoyed my pancakes and a mouthful of my colleagues delicious kipper. Another had Eggs Benedict.

Another great stay here last weekend. The staff and the food are excellent. Cannot fault this place and always get service as nothing is too much trouble. Angela on reception 'stood out' from the rest and was extremely helpful and charming. Will deffo be back next year.

Stayed for four nights September 2014 with my husband and two friends. It was a very pleasant hotel. The rooms were large and the super king bed was extremely comfortable. Large balcony. Good tea/coffee making facilities. Bottles of drinking water were supplied and replenished without charge. Bathroom was large with plenty of toiletries and clean fluffy towels. Made use of the swimming pool, sauna and steam room. No complaints at all. Towels and bathrobes were always available. The location was good. Buses to St Peter Port pass by regularly and more or less on time and there is a flat fare of £1,anywhere on the island. The staff were always friendly and helpful. Can't comment on the restaurants as we didn't eat at the hotel. Breakfast, however, was excellent with lots of choice at the buffet and items you could order from the menu. The drinks in the bar were very expensive so we didn't linger too long. However, when we did have a pre dinner drink or a nightcap light snacks (olives, wasabi nuts, peanuts) were always supplied. Overall if you are going to Guernsey and want a good hotel in a good location you won't go far wrong with this one. There are so many restaurants to choose from outside the hotel that it isn't really an issue.

The breakfast was great, the food excellent and served by a very pleasant and efficient personnel. Would return with great pleasure!

I have stayed here several times and I would endorse the comments made by the reviewer in February who complained of the mobile phone mast EXCEPT for the comments on the mast.

I stayed there in 2013 and haven't made a review but felt compelled to do so because the February review was grossly unfair on that one point.

The comment about the phone mast was misleading if not a bit 'chicken licken' . The emissions from the mast according to Guernsey Regulator surveys are between 3,000 and 11,000 times lower than EU recommended minima. In other words you'd get more radiation using your own phone.

So with such as silly comment can we rely on the rest of the review?
In my experience the hotel food was poor, at times the services is indifferent and the hotel is not as near the centre of town as it presents itself. However its grounds are pleasant, the hotel is clean, and facilities are good- Except for peak times it represents good value. It was wonderfully quiet the last time I stayed and I rather liked it.But as the other reviewer pointed out it caters for business/inclusive tours/airlines and can suddenly fill up, as happened on a previous trip, which leads to queues at front desk and a busy bar and restaurant. In my previous experience service in the bar and restaurant did not suffer but front desk struggled to cope.
