We had a short family and friends trip to Guernsey and stayed 3 nights at the St Pierre Park. Overall a good hotel and enjoyed our stay.

+ fitness club and Spa was good quality including indoor swimming pool, outdoor jacuzzi, wide selection of exercise equipment
+ breakfast buffet was impressive with extensive selection of hot and cold items
+ service generally friendly and positive although some times certian staff dropped the ball (eg in hotel bar for food and drinks order)

- rooms getting pretty tired. No extractor fan (at least a working one) in bathroom and no air conditioning in rooms which even in the slightly cooler temperatures when we were there was needed
- front desk could have been friendlier

Our room was a family room on the garden level, ideal as we had our eight year old granddaughter with us.
The room with the side bedroom was lovely and spacious and very clean.

The breakfasts were very good, with plenty of choice , buffet and menu.
We dined at the Terrace Cafe a few evenings, the food was very good and plenty of it, the portion sizes were very big.

The swimming pool and grounds were also very good.
The paving around the terrace and pond could do with some maintenance. It’s a little dated.
But the lawns and gardens are well kept.

The outstanding thing about St Pierre in Park are their staff.
Every staff member we came across was lovely, they couldn’t be nicer or more helpful if they tried.

My granddaughter already says she wants to come back next year.

Just had a wonderful Sunday lunch/afternoon on the Terrace at St Pierre Park.
The staff were extremely friendly & attentive, going the extra mile to make sure we were in the shade & had plenty of iced water on a hot day. The food was delicious & very reasonably priced. An afternoon to remember.

Visited for Sunday lunch carvery and it was excellent quality and value for money. Staff very attentive, lots of choice on the carvery and generous portions. Yorkshire were amazing! You can choose how many courses to have - seafood on starters looked amazing, but we didn't have the appetite to try that as well. My son loved the chocolate fountain on the dessert table.

We stayed for five nights in a Sea View Superking Room with a balcony for five nights. The OGH is a beautiful period hotel with generous sized rooms( ours had a separate walk-in wardrobe and also a separate walk-in shower in the bathroom. The retractable glass window on the balcony was also a real bonus. They have two restaurants: the Brasserie for both Breakfast and Dinner plus a lovely separate Curry Room. The standard of food in both was excellent, although some of the wines by the glass was fairly pricy, and the standard of service was excellent. There is also the option of eating Al Fresco for breakfast and lunch. A particular excellent feature is the standard of service and the friendliness of the staff throughout the hotel. The OGH sits on a hill above St.Peter Port Harbour with great views and is only a 5- minute walk to the shops and harbour. However bear in mind you are walking uphill on the way back. We felt 5 nights was ideal as it gives ample opportunity to see Guernsey and also visit Herm and/or Sark. Although it is expensive at ca £550/ night B&B it really is worth the money for the really relaxing break the OGH provides.
