We stayed for 5 nights in June 2019 and loved the OGH. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff were all very welcoming. The receptionists were always friendly and asking if we'd had a good day. The quality of the food and the amount of choice, especially for breakfast, was exceptional. The bedrooms and the public spaces were beautifully decorated and just made it a special place to stay. I think we all need a bit of luxury and pampering in our lives at some time, and the OGH is a great place to find it.

5* service and the most helpful and pleasing staff. We had a great stay in a most convenient location. There was nothing the staff could not do to help and arranged and looked after us like royalty. The rooms, and in fact the whole hotel was absolutely spotless. The service was 5*. Outdoor pool was again spotless, warm and a lovely retreat after a day out on the island. The spa was ok but could do with being connected to the pool. The breakfast was amazing and the evening meals were delicious but could do with a daily special and or a bit more variation. All in all a tranquil and nice experience

The OGH May have 5 stars and an excellent town location but it fails to meet the luxury hotel standard. It’s good, with air conditioned rooms but just falls short. No minibars in the room and in room coffee service is still instant coffee. Room service menu very limited and staff taking orders hardly speak English. An order of scrambled eggs with smoked salmon arrived as a smoked salmon and avocado sandwich with a small bowl of scrambled eggs on the side!
The bars lack any atmosphere. Reception staff are not very empathetic.

We stzyed at the OGH for our first visit to Guernsey. The stagf were excellent but the hotel does not meet the standard's required to merit 5*s.
The bedrooms are small and our room have faults that one does not expect from a high class hotel, eg mould and rust shower, damaged glass to the dressing table which was effectively a health and safety issue and a safe positioned on the top shelf of the wardrobe which made it inaccessible to any one under 6' tall. The curry house meal was good but the chicken and prawn dish was almost inedible withe prawns being overcooked which made them taste like rubber. Service in the restaurant was slow with only one person who was also taking room service orders.
The hotel has many stairs making it difficult for anyone with limited mobility.Over all a good 4* hotel that needs a lot more effort to warrant 5*

We had a very pleasant stay here in June. Our room faced the gardens to the rear of the hotel, which reflected an oasis of calm and tranquility. Just lovely for a truly relaxing break !
The breakfast and evening meals were adequate and the overall cleanliness of the hotel was good. We would certainly seek to return when visiting the Island again.

My stay was short and i was working nights on the island so i never ate evening meals at the hotel. The room was 1st class and was equipped with free wifi. The breakfasts were also 1st class. I never used the leisure club so cannot comment.
However i will be returning this next week so may be able to use all the facilities.

Things have clearly improved a lot at this hotel since some of the previous comments were posted - our bathroom had not a hint of avocado, but was instead newly refurbished and finished very nicely, with modern clean lines. The bedroom was fine - a bit characterless, but a decent size and clean. Tea and coffee facilities are provided. Breakfast was fine - a good wide choice and pretty good quality.

What lets the hotel down a bit is some of the common areas. The dining room has cheap stackable chairs which are rather utilitarian looking, and an old fashioned carpet. Most of the common areas have 1970s style, tired looking acoustic ceiling tiles, which look well past their prime. Quite a lot of lightbulbs were dead and had not been replaced. The chap on the concierge desk could not seem to grasp that we wanted him to book us a cab, and we didn't want to wait 45 minutes until the next bus came.

It's fine as a hotel....but certainly not a great hotel. Location-wise, the hotel has nice gardens but the town centre is only walkable for the fit! (circa 25 minute walk).

We decided to make a weekend of it, while visiting Guernsey FC. The weather for this time of year was excellent, and the hotel made it even better. The staff were friendly and very helpful.
The breakfast spread was very good.
We used the bar in the evenings and ordered food from the menu, but this was generally bland and could be enhanced by better flavouring, although nicely presented.
bedroom was very warm despite turning off the radiator, and the king size double was 2 singles put together

3 day stay but same menu each day (March 2013). Not much of that left on last night so waiter dropped the extra £10 for item chosen. However this was added to bill on leaving. When questioned politely at reception, the reception manager closed her office door on us. Not a nice lady. Did not get best of rooms, despite hotel being only one third full. Would not go back.

The St. Pierre Park Hotel is a little ways out from St. Peter Port's downtown, but it is lovely. The grounds are amazing, but the staff is even better! Everyone, from the reception desk to the servers in La Fontaine and the bar, to the porter, is exceptional. The are friendly, helpful, and service-oriented. I'm so glad we picked this hotel for our stay. It's easily gotten to by bus # 41 or 42 from anywhere on the island. Breakfast and wifi are included in the room rate. If we come back to Guernsey, we'll surely stay here.
