The Alexandra – new and very-much improved!

Isn’t it nice when a local business, which has become slightly faded and forgettable, is taken over and invigorated into somewhere you actually want to visit?!

That’s what’s happened in Farnborough with The Alexandra pub on Victoria Road. Experienced manager Nadia Schicchi has taken over this former 'boozer' and (without destroying the homely local pub atmosphere) has made it into a welcoming, friendly pub/bar/restaurant with a menu worth checking out.

The Alexandra now boasts regularly-changing guest ales like Black Sheep Ale and interesting bottled beers such as Brooklyn Lager alongside the usual suspects.

The food is a mixture of traditional pub dishes and (thanks to the Italian chef) Italian classics, so sausages, steaks and hand-cut skin-on chips sit on the menu alongside risotto, seafood linguine and tiramisu.

Nadia is committed to using local suppliers so many ingredients come from very nearby – meat and bakery items from Farnborough, fruit and vegetables from Guildford, and many of the cheeses on the cheeseboard are made in the region too. Fish comes from Devon due to the noticeable lack of ocean in the Farnborough area!

Next time you’re looking for somewhere informal, comfortable and friendly to have a drink or a meal in the evening, remember The Alexandra – we hope you’ll take the time to give them a try and welcome yet another excellent new business to the area.
