More than 450 people signed up to swim, cycle and sprint their way to the finish line at Fleet Sprint Triathlon held by Everyone Active on 1 May.

The triathlon kicked off at the new Hart Leisure Centre, where competitors took to the pool to swim 400m. This was followed by a 20km bike ride around the district and a 5km cross-country run.

Peter Campbell finished top in the adult male category with a time of 57minutes 31 seconds – a new course record. While Sue Parker was the fastest women on the day, crossing the line in just over one hour, six minutes. Ida Burrows and Daniel Cooke also finished top in the junior female and male categories respectively.

It was the 23rd annual Sprint Triathlon to be held in Fleet, but the first to be hosted by Everyone Active at the new £23million leisure centre.
