Alan Lott was the oldest participant in the Surrey 14k Nuts Challenge on Saturday 5 September with 600 people join in a gruelling obstacle course with lots of crawling on hands and knees, climbing up river banks and cargo netting.

Not only did Alan come 9th place, he also completed the course 23 minutes faster than his time 2 years before!

Speaking about the event Alan said: "I'm thrilled with my time and position in this challenge and I’m grateful for the sponsorship from Hart 365, which included training tops and hoodies, to get me prepared for my challenges. I hope I am an inspiration to all the children I teach in local schools".

Alan is a regular user of the facilities at the Hart Leisure centre an he proactively uses the gym to train for events such as these.

Cllr Anne Crampton, Cabinet Member for Community Wellbeing at Hart District Council, said: “We’re so pleased that Alan has been able to compete to such a high standard in this event. It truly shows that by regularly using facilities at our Leisure Centres, people can stay fit and healthy, whatever age. To support the health and wellbeing in Hart we provide a range of fitness activities for all ages to enjoy.”

Hart Leisure Services are currently running an offer on the value card, where residents can get 10 sessions for the price of 8.
