Hart District Council is celebrating ‘Fairtrade in Hart’ by holding a free event at The Harlington in Fleet on Wednesday 14th June and people can drop in anytime between 6.30pm and 8.30pm.

There will be a chance to join in with a fun quick prize quiz, hear from speakers and learn about Fairtrade in Hart from information stalls. Complimentary Fairtrade beverages and biscuits will also be provided.

Guest speaker for the event will be Adam Gardner, Community Campaigns Manager at the Fairtrade Foundation, and he will be talking about 'Fairtrade – A permanent solution to global poverty'.

Speaking about the event Les Murrell, Energy and Environment Manager on behalf of Hart District Council, said: “Hart has been a Fairtrade District since 2013 and it is important that we work to maintain this status. Fairtrade in Hart is making a positive contribution to helping some of the poorest communities in the world and it is key that residents are aware of how they can get involved to support Fairtrade locally.”

The event is free and no booking required, just turn up on the day. For more information about supporting Fairtrade in Hart and how to get involved visit www.hart.gov.uk/fairtrade.
