THE Evesham division of Cancer Research UK will launch the Evesham Relay for Life 2010 at a party at the Bengeworth Club in Coronation St, Evesham on Saturday 19th September.

Relay for Life is an annual event where teams of 8 to 15 people get together to raise funds for the cancer charity by taking it in turns to walk or run for a total of 24 hours.

The 2-day event was held at Evesham High School this June and raised £33,000. The 2010 event will take place at the same venue on June 26 and 27, 2010, with the aim of beating the 2009’s fantastic total.

Now entering year 3, the two previous Evesham relay events have been great days out for families, with a range of entertainments on offer including live music and competitions.

The Evesham branch of Cancer Research UK has recently moved into an office at Basepoint Evesham, taking advantage of its offer of twelve months’ rent-free space for charities and other not-for-profit organisations.
