It's Music Galore amd More at the Epsom Playhouse in April.

Tony Jacobs celebrates and sings Gershwin, Porter and other great songwriters at the Epsom Playhouse on Wednesday 2 April in the first of a season of great music performances this month. 

Tony returns to Epsom Playhouse with a matinee performance of songs and music celebrating the genius of some of the worlds greatest songwriters including Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Gershwin, Rodgers and Hart and Johnny Mercer along with tributes to performers such as Fred Astaire, Louis Armstrong an many others. 

On Thursday 3 April Sherry Baby’s Ultimate Tribute to The Jersey Boys, Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons tells the remarkable rise to stardom of one of the most successful bands in pop music history.  Discover how four New Jersey boys from the wrong side of the tracks invented their own unique sound, were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and sold 100 million records worldwide. 

The Searchers remarkable career continues with a UK tour stopping off in Epsom on Sunday 13 April. With such classic hits as Sweets For My Sweet, Needles and Pins, Don’t Throw Your Love Away, Sugar and Spice and When You Walk In The Room, they have contributed enormously in establishing the UK as the world’s leading nation in the music industry. Combined with anecdotes and reminiscences, this includes all their famous hits and a selection of other collector and well known favourites. 

Rob Kingsley stars as A Vision of Elvis on Saturday 26 April with his sensational band and singers. This production is recognised as Europe's most authentic and successful tribute to Elvis Presley and brings a full evening featuring all the classic hits, from the hip swivelling ‘50s Sun Studios to the Movie Years and the 1968 Comeback Special with the finale being the electrifying Jumpsuit Concert Years. 

On Tuesday 29 April the unique "feel-good" Big Band show Five Star Swing Band gives audiences the chance to swing along with songs from Glenn Miller, Sinatra, Basie, Ella Fitzgerald, Jazz & Blues. As seen on BBC’s Children in Need, Dame Vera Lynn's Charity Ball and Blackpool Tower Ballroom the show features Simone from the Ivy Benson Orchestra, and Chris Smith (Jnr) composer and arranger for the BBC Radio Big Band, Herb Miller Big Band. 

April also sees appearances by West End favourite Ruthie Henshall on Tuesday 15 April, an Easter matinee treat for children with Pop Factor on Thursday 17 April, local singer/songwriter Elio Pace on Thursday 24 April and a welcome return by Tenors Unlimited The Rat Pack of Opera on Friday 25 April.
