Family run, very Spanish, yet local, always full. Nice atmosphere, food is good. Its quite old fashioned, with a desert trolley, but that's the charm. In hot weather the windows can be completely opened.

What a joy. This is what going out for a meal is all about. Friendly service. Impressive menu. Delicious food. Good advice on wine choices. Nothing was too much trouble. All finished off nicely by an amazing dessert trolley!

Days after our visit people who accompanied me to Le Rincon are still talking about their visit and saying what a lovely meal and evening it was. The atmosphere was relaxing and the service second to none. At no time were we rushed and it was a leisurely meal perfectly timed. A place not to be missed and certainly to put on your itinerary. Close by is Epsom Downs and the Racecourse where splendid views of London can be seen;

We returned again to El Rincon at Tattenham Crescent, Epsom Downs with a party of 24 people and we were not disappointed. The meal was really delicious and hot, nicely presented, vegetables were cooked to perfection; service was excellent and clearing of tables was carried out in a manner that you did not notice whilst chatting to other guests. The varied menu made it difficult for us to choose what we wanted, such was the choice. Nothing was too much trouble for Jose Antonio or Carlos. We were not rushed and we had a nice relaxing evening. Background music was unobtrusive enabling one to converse with friends. A really friendly and helpful atmosphere prevailed. A warm welcome greeted us on entry. Guests made many favourable comments and were glad we had introduced them to El Rincon. It is close to Epsom racecourse and there is a lovely view of London and its lights nearby. Parking is available.

We visited this restaurant 2 weeks ago with neighbours, to thank them for looking after our garden for a month when we were absent. We had a choice of 3 tables and decided to sit at the back so we could see all that was going on. We ordered starters which came up fairly soon, on hot plates and only had to wait a short time for our main courses. These were also on hot plates and were well presented, my husband's Dover Sole was very generous and so were the 3 other meals. We waited a while before ordering desserts and these were displayed on a large trolley. Very difficult to choose, they all looked inviting. We had been recommended to have a bottle of Rioja which was very good. The bill was applicable for the occasion and we were very pleased. Last time we ate at El Rincon must have been 3 years ago and it is still very good value. It is a 'buzzy' place and was full up when we left. We shall return soon.

We visited this restaurant about 8 years ago and did not find it worth reviewing. However, we recently decided to celebrate an anniversary at this restaurant and were thoroughly delighted with the food, wine and service. We chose starters and main courses from the Specials menu ( tapas and set menu also available) and each one was cooked to perfection. The Muga Rioja wine was new to us but proved to be the ideal accompaniment to the meal. It was a wet Thursday night so the restaurant was not full and therefore quiet and relaxing. All in all a great dining experience and very good value at £65 (3 courses excluding wine). On leaving we were thoughtfully offered an umbrella that we could return on our next visit.

I and my wife usually visit this restaurant 3-4 times a year (only because it's a bit of a journey from where we now live) but every time we have a lovely evening :) food is delicious, great wine list, staff are very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is great if you want a romantic meal or friendly evening. 'Not recommended for business meetings in the evening!!!' Last time we visited their were a silly middle aged couple with blue prints, charts, note pads etc
Holding a little meeting with their loud voices (not sure who they were trying to impress?) but the restaurant can't be blamed for dimwits like them :) you don't go to a romantic restaurant for a business meeting do you?We must have been 25-30 times and that was the first time we had a problem, but as it was with guests not the restaurant I can't blame the staff.
To sum up 100% lovely Spanish restaurant :) we will be back

Visited this restaurant last night with a group of 15 women. Service was friendly and we felt neither rushed nor kept waiting. We had menu 1 which was excellent value and everyone appeared to enjoy their food. I had the mussels as a starter and pork in a blue cheese, wine and cream sauce. Both were delicious. This was my first visit and I will definitely be back!

We visited this restaurant for the first time last week and can say it was one of the nicest meals I have had in a long time.
The food is traditional home style Spanish food, and cooked by Spanish chefs, and I have a sneaking suspicion the head chef is the owners wife.
We chose the tapas menu and had 2 rounds of main courses 5 in the first round and 2 in the second. I highly recommend the prawns with garlic dip, and the Chorizo cooked in cider is AMAZING!
The Ribera wine we chose was also excellent (recommended to me by my Spanish colleague). For desert we both had the home-made lemon cheesecake which was lovely, extremley light and refreshing.
The service is also first class and very friendly. The owner comes round and chats with everyone and can't do enough to help.
The coffee is also spot on. No Starbucks crap here!
All in all 9.5/10, only slight issue is the price but then again we did order too much!

We've been visiting El Ricon for over a dozen years now. A great meal every time. Clientele tend to be middle aged plus. Food and drink always brilliant and reasonably priced. The best kidneys anywhere. Great selection of taps. Jose is happy to let you go off the menu if it is not too busy. Well worth a visit.

Charming restaurant, white tablecloths, carpeting and homely atmosphere. Attentive and friendly staff and good selection on the set menu. Good food freshly cooked, hot and well presented. Very enjoyable and would thoroughly recommend. Well done to them - couldn't be faulted.

I was introduced to this restaurant about a year ago, having complained to a colleague that there was nowhere to eat around Epsom. This is truly a little gem. The food is outstanding, the prices reasonable, and the hospitality wonderful. I often come here by myself, and made welcome as a 'regular'. My calamari has just arrived, so I have to go..... Damn!

We are fortunate enough to be able to walk to this excellent Spanish restaurant. There is a full a la carte menu, two & three course 'special' menus and a very good Tapas selection. The wine list is not huge but has been well sourced to accompany the food and at reasonable prices. They also cater for large parties and we have had several family celebrations there over the years. It's very popular, there is always a nice friendly atmosphere there and we consider ourselves very lucky to have this as our local.

Despite the location feeling like we were sitting inside a shop the service and quality of food makes up for it. Have eaten here twice and invited by friends on both occasions and have not been disappointed. The staff are very friendly and knowledgable of the menu. It would be perfect if this restaurant could be located on Tattenham Corner and pull down the Beefeater that occupies that great location!

My wife and I visited this restaurant for the first time, recently — looking for new local places to eat. When we arrived we were greeted by the owner who was friendly and relaxed. Upon finding out that it was our first visit he explained the Tapas menu and the Specials menu.
We were served with some of the best tasting olives I’ve ever had and some tasty bread.
We decided to try the Tapas and the owner advised us how many dishes we were likely to want, which turned out to be just right.
The dishes were very good and piping hot — the breaded monkfish tails were especially good. My wife is a vegetarian so we were pleased to see a reasonable number of vegetarian tapas offerings and a separate vegetarian menu — which is not always the case with Spanish restaurants.
The venue is pleasant and has a family run feel to it. There was plenty of seating available with enough space between tables. We arrived on a Tuesday night, so it was a little quiet.
We’ll definitely be returning where we shall try the specials menu and I can certainly recommend this place to others.

A friend introduced me to this restaurant, as I regularly stay in Epsom, but rarely stray far from the hotel. I often go there on my lonesome, as they make you feel very welcome, which can be rare for us business travellers!
Oh, by the way, the food's excellent too!
P.S. you must try the Bannoffi pie!
