Always an easy decision to make; pre-book in advance for Fri/Weekends. Visited on 13th May for a Business meeting, but often visit with friends. Great atmosphere, service and food

I've eaten at El Rincon many times over the years and is a good firm local favourite if mine. Good prices, excellent food and service. Would thoroughly recommend a visit

Q for train back to town from Tatenham Corner Station was still long so with no great optimism I suggested to my partner we take a look to see if we could find somewhere to eat and stumbled on this gem of a Spanish restaurant where we enjoyed a selection of 5 tapas - off particular note was the chorizo - proper rustic cut and the paella, accompanied by a very pleasant white Rioja. We were served throughout by the charming and friendly Robert who was happy to advise and recommend. Even on probably one of their busiest evenings with a mixture of diners and drinkers who had the same idea as us, the atmosphere was relaxing and friendly and Robert was looking forward to watching his Team - Barcelona in the Champions League Final on playback after his shift so we wished him and his Team our best as we took our leave to catch our train. A really nice restaurant to which we will certainly return maybe before Derby Day 2016 😀

Nice ,food good ,good service , staff friendly ,on the nite we went it was full of regulars ,so you can be a bit ignored unless your forcefull ,but all in all a good experience ,but a bit too clinical for me ,so not a real tapas experience for me anyway ,Desert bit of a let down ,wine good , beer good ,better service if your a regular patron

The food at El Rincon never fails to deliver. My favourite dish is the pollo Jacobo. The house wines are always good quality too. This restaurant will always be my no1 in the area.

Visited with a group of friends. We all picked a variety of tapas dishes, varying from potatoes to chicken and fish all of which were lovely well cooked and well presented. We also all shared a paella which was the best i've ever had, full of seafood and chicken, plentiful and very tasty.
Also loved the dessert trolley some really delicious afters on there and could quite easily have tried them all!
Service is great, very friendly, family orientated environment and staff are really good at helping with information on dishes.
Would definitely recommend and visit again!!

I'm not biast because i know the owner (from work on his house)
When José told me he had a Tapas place nearby i was apprehensive, having lived in Spain for over 12yrs and worked as a chef there i was immpressed with my findings, there are a couple of poor reviews i spotted on here, criticism is always welcomed by any restaurant owner, it helps to overcome issues, for me, my only issue is I don't get much time to pop in and eat here, staff are great, food is fab, if you wanted The Savoy, you came to the wrong place, anyone who understands Spanish culture will know food takes 2-3 hours to consume, preparation can take hours or minutes, depends on what standard you want you food, for me, these guys have it right, under pressure they cope, so what if you have to wait a wee while, get into the culture, eat slow, chat endlessley and enjoy the authenticity Thumbs up guys

I hope they don't get too busy as I love it too much. If you want real food and not the nasty rubbish you get in a Harvester or similar. If you have a clean palate it is heaven to the taste buds. If you want salty nasty stuff go elsewhere. If you want genuine food, this is the place for you. 5 starts for service and freshness. Never been disappointed but understand why idiots wouldn't appreciate it. It is not a McDonalds so not full of sugar or salt, just natural real flavours. Probably the best for miles. Many people have grown up eating the pre-prepared packet food, like slow cooked lamb shanks etc, or barbeque ribs. No such nonsense here. Took my son and daughter. Best food they had ever had. You have to wait while they cook it so if you have nothing to say top your family then you won't like it, but real Spanish food. Exceptional value especially for their Monday to Thursday menu. Thanks you to all at El Rincon.

Best Spanish restaurant !
Amazing food , really good wine, our favourite Muga Rioja. All food seems to be authentic feels like "mums cooked" we really like that. Very good service , owner gives very warm welcome every time! They are really attentive ! Really like the way they serve desserts!
Definitely coming back! Recommend to everyone who loves authentic food, good wines and like to enjoy their time with no rush!

Pros: Nice location, chilled atmosphere, dine at a leisurely pace, tasty homemade 'mum-style' desserts, good house wine
Cons: The food. Tapas was rubbish as everything needed extra seasoning and lacked flavour, gambas are smallest I have ever seen, had to add salt to every dish

Visited El Rincon on a Saturday night. My guests chose steak which I was slightly worried about as one is very fussy over steaks but I need not have worried. Every morsel of the steak was eaten and done to perfection without any fat, gristle or toughness. The fish dish I had was delicious. All were accompanied by an assortment of potatoes and vegetables They serve the most delicious vegetables. Service is good as is the atmosphere. Music is at a level where you can talk and not have to shout. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our table where we were offered a choice of drinks which were promptly served and time given to explore the menu. There was a three course menu or a la carte which we chose. All food was freshly cooked and not left sitting around so it arrived at the table hot. We have never been disappointed by our visits to El Rincon.

THE GOOD:
Food is tasty
Service was excellentAmple parking nearby
THE NOT SO GOOD:
Feels cramped
First time we have eaten here and we will surely come back. The food is good and the service is very friendly and attentive.
We had tapas which were tasty but we were envious of the Paella which we will try next time as it looked very tasty and good value for money for how big the portion looked.
Our only real gripe would be that it is is really cramped. They obviously get very busy and need all the tables.

We had a meal at El Rincon to celebrate my wife's birthday and realised we have never given a review for a restaurant where we have been having fantastic meals and service for nearly 20 years. The food has always been great, irrespective of whether we visit as a couple or as a bigger group. The service is always warm and friendly. Also El Rincon offers a great choice of desserts made on the premises. And on top of the great food and service it represents excellent value for money.

Authenticity and friendliness prevailed and the choice of dishes available was superb. It was almost like being back in Spain. Cleanliness was supreme throughout.

The menu in this old fashioned Gallician restaurant never changes. For me it does not matter.i always have the same.muscles and kidneys.the vegetables;.fried potatoes, cauliflower, carrots and snap peas.the sauces have plenty of cream and butter. the sweet i rarely have;but they do not change either. the espresso is best in Tattenham corner.go while it lasts.

Just got back from a great evening at El Rincon. I had lovely king prawns followed by the rack of lamb. Friends had the fried squid which you wouldn't usually have in this country but it was excellent. Several of us had different types of fish for main and all was cooked to
Perfection. Looking forward to our next visit!

We've been going to El Rincon for fourteen years. Every meal has been great. Edwina usually has tapas and I prefer an main meal. We went for our seventh anniversary (aah!) last night. Tried a new dish on the menu; sea bass with an amazing topping. Best fish all year!
£66 for dinner for two and a great bottle of Rioja.Carlos is great at front of house and Jose's cooking is to die for. We'll definitely be back soon. Thank you.
