great weekend. The welcome was excellent, the staff were really friendly, the entertainment good, the rooms were very nice and clean, food was good, great location. i took a coach party to stay here and i only got one complaint and that was the heating was not working properly, give them credit they were trying to get it sorted, Luke and his team down a great job well done . would definitely come back

Hotel has been updated a bit. Room comfortable and clean. Staff very friendly. What let it down for us was the dining room. It was either a case of not enough waiting staff, or that the food was not ready for them to serve. As a result, food was cold. The wait for the very meagre portion of vegetables (one small serving dish between four) was totally unacceptable and to be brought a dish after eating the very small bit of meat was farcical. A bit more effort in the kitchen would have made this a complaint free visit. The manager needs to tighten up this area or he will have more disgruntled guests.

Just returned from the Christmas Break at the Afton Hotel for 3 nights.This was our first visit since the change of management and our visit was above our expectations.A special mention to the Aftons new Chef CSABA who delighted us with a PERFECT Christmas dinner and delicious daily dishes cooked to perfection.Luke and the team worked so hard to ensure all the guests were happy and were always available if they were needed.We felt comfortable, cosy and warm and came home relaxed and full.Overall had a fantastic break and will definitely be returning in the near future.

What a excellent hotel very clean and warm the staff could not do enough for us Luke the general manager keep us laughing and very good at his job. The food was very good with fresh ingredients and very well cooked waitress and waiters were very efficient entertainment each afternoon and evening . Would certainly stay there again well done everyone

Bedroom spotless and comfortable. Shower possibly needs refurbishing. Food excellent and staff all very friendly, helpful and polite. Hotel in good position just off the front but with view of the pier and close to amenities.

We went to see White Christmas at the Royal Hippodrome on 1st January 2014. We had never visited this theatre before and I had no idea what the story of White Christmas is (beyond the obvious) - it was really just something to do as the gale force wind and rain was not conducive to any outdoor activity. However: WOW, what a great show with a brilliantly talented cast and musicians - many of whom were local people. The story was quite unexpected - if you don't know it, I'm not telling you - go and see for yourself. You have until tomorrow, 4th January (final showing)! The theatre itself is old, charming and traditional with great character - spotlessly clean too. It's vital that heritage theatres like this are preserved, so please do support it if you are in or around Eastbourne.

The royal hippodrome has yet again put on another fantastic show. The Jive Aces. They set the whole audience buzzing lll evening and received a standing ovation. I am thrilled that the present management are able to put on great acts with little funding and relying on volunteers to help run the theatre. Well done and look forward to a great 2014

What a lovely theatre. From when we first walked in, the staff were very helpful and cheery. The show was great, bit of a queue at the bar but that's the norm in theatres now. The facilities were very clean and well maintained and it is just around the corner from our guest house.
