Hotellet viste seg å ikke stemme helt med bildene. Rimelig nedslitt ute og inne. Noen rom var sannsynligvis ny oppusset men vi hadde 1 rom og begge var slitt og umoderne. Anbefaler ikke å besøke midt i hetebølge da det ikke er air-conditioning bare små vifter.

Only one small lift which the main lift was out of order which was nt good so i had to climb 4 flight of stairs which i had a bad knee now ive had to strap up

This is a huge old fashioned building in dire need of complete renovation. It has two lifts (serving all the rooms!) one of which was “not in service”. So only 1 lift to service this huge hotel. The lift would only fit two people at a time, this would be without any luggage so it took two trips to get to your floor if you needed to take a suitcase and other bits and pieces. The whole structure should have been condemned by the Eastbourne council. No room service, and certainly no room clean each morning. The only thing that was good was the view from my room which was of the sea and was spectacular. Spoilt somewhat by the dirty windows which had not been cleaned or painted for many years. What a pity for such a grand old building. We did not eat at the hotel, the thought of the quality and cleanliness of the kitchen was much in doubt after experiencing the corridors and bedrooms lack of attention to having any sort of housekeeping done at any point. A great disappointment especially for the Eastbourne tourists

Room was large, lots of space but bathroom and in particular the shower was terribly small. Breakfast was good and plentiful.
Carpet in room needs to be replaced. Overall decor of the hotel is dated and showing age. A good deep clean and lick of paint would significantly help.
