Visited The Crown and Anchor today. Excellent food and really nice staff. Lovely pub atmosphere. Can recomend the ham, egg and chips and the boston burger, followed by a delicious home made jam sponge and custard. Well worth a visit and we will return.

Lovely place in a great location, well maintained and suitable for just a quiet drink or a meal. The staff and warm and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. The food is delicious and plentiful, not to mention good value for money. I would defiantly recommend to anyone in the area!

We were advised that this was a great place to eat, but not to our taste The place is great if you want a small pub type place surrounded by many TV screens all showing sport, we don't A big plus is the home-made burgers we had were some of the best we have ever eaten. However we were not offered a sweet menu just asked if we wanted the bill. We paid and left, having sweets elswhere.

We live in the area and pop into this pub at least once a week and find it a great place to just sit and relax in and just chill! We have never eaten in here ( yet!) but the food always looks good and people seem to really enjoy what they've ordered. The staff are on the ball, you get served a decent pint and it's clean.
Plus, well behaved dogs are welcome !

We called in here for a couple of drinks before going for a meal elsewhere. The pub is pleasant with a largish bar area with table seating. Service and beer were good but we were disappointed to see so many empty tables reserved for meals which restricted the space to sit to just have a drink. We chose a table but were then asked to move and the only table available was small and in front of the door. We were there for at least 30 minutes during which time the diners at our original table had still not turned up.
Undaunted, we decided to return for another drink after our meal only to be greeted by an extremely noisy DJ session of some sort. We gave up and went to our hotel and had a drink in much more pleasant surroundings.
The pub is fine for a drink but beware of Sunday evenings!
