May bank holiday weekend:

Greeted by staff who carried our cases to our room, room ready by 13:30pm. Hotel right opposite the pier, 5 mins from the shops - excellent location!

Breakfast was a little early 08:00-09:00, could be half hour later, especially after a late night ( this is my only criticism). Restaurant staff so accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was freshly cooked, for me the best meal of the day.

Overall the staff were very friendly.

Hotel itself, old with lots of character. Loved little hide out rooms to relax. Lots of seating available.

Even with difficult customers, staff were polite and handled situations well.

I would stay again.

We had a big family birthday party here and the staff were so helpful and friendly, nothing was too much bother in making it go with a swing. For the price, the rooms were good value and I agree the evening meal was a bit rushed, similar to an earlier comment, but the beds were comfortable and I didn't hear any adverse comments from our guests who stayed there.

Lovely friendly Hotel you would want to visit again and again. Always a warm welcome. The rooms are spotless. Small but more than adequate. Our bedding was changed everyday! Entertainment every night so no need to leave the Hotel. Just pull up a seat and enjoy the evening. A really nice breakfast is served, there is something to please everyone. Full English, cereal, toast, yogurt, fruit, tea, coffee and fruit juice. We were full to bursting! All in all a great place to stay. We are going back.

My husband and I, together with two other family members, stayed at the Afton Hotel from 25th to 29th May 2015, with Edwards Coaches. Our double room on the 2nd floor was a decent size, clean & tidy, nicely furnished and overlooked the pier. The bathroom was spacious, with a walk-in shower that was easy to use. My only slight grumble was that we had no TV remote control in the room and although we reported this at reception, we never did get a remote control. This wasn't too much of a problem for us, because we didn't stay in the room much to watch TV but I feel there should have been one available, if only to turn off the subtitles that came up every time you turned on the TV. Also, as our room faced the pier, it was very noisy late some nights with other holiday-makers and revellers leaving the pier [and there was also an incident involving the police one night] but this is to be expected in such a busy resort and in such a prime location. The food at the hotel was really good, well-cooked and decent portions. We certainly didn't go hungry. All the meat served was tender and falling apart, just as we like it and the vegetables were nice and soft without being soggy. The entertainment at the hotel was excellent, particularly on the Monday and the Thursday. However, as we were all different ages with different tastes, its always hard to please everyone but I would say that our coach party joined in to make every night enjoyable. When we arrived, there were other guests staying there on a bar deal but the Manager, Jason, kindly extended that deal to our coach party as well, so the drinks were very reasonable. All in all, I would say that this hotel is good value for money and we certainly had a great time. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is friendly and comfortable. I would certainly recommend this hotel to other people for a down-to-earth & good value hotel.

What would you invest to pick the brain of one of Eastbourne's sharpest marketing minds? Because that's what you're getting with the price of your BestofEastbourne listing. David doesn't just know his stuff - he's one of the few people who walks the walk. Follow him, listen to his advice and you will get more customers. There's no question about it.

I had a great social media session with Mina. Sponsored by EDEAL so it was completely free. It was a great opportunity to discuss several platforms and a strategy to move forward. Mina is patient, clear and definitely knows her subject. I would absolutely recommend a session with her. Whether you are wanting a new focus or you want to really get going on one of the social media platforms.

Eva's provision through the Yogalife studio is amazing. She is a great teacher and regular participation in her Zoom classes has given me focus and sanity during the last year. She manages to make virtual contact really personal and provides a fantastic balance of physical, mental and spiritual in her classes. Provision of online membership has been a great addition, allowing access to classes at times convenient to me, and enabling me to sample different teachers and approaches.
