Hotel staff were pleasant and helpful, The room was clean and tidy apart from a few carpet marks. It was a spacious superior room with a sea view, unfortunately the lack of a mini fridge really let the room down as a superior. Breakfast was ok but nothing special, it was breakfast. Just a little bit expensive for just a weekend.

It has been such a pleasure dealing with a family run business. friendly, efficient and very price competitive.
I had a bespoke engagement ring made by James, we discussed the requirements and he made a plastic copy for me to check.
After a very minor alteration the ring was perfectly made to my total requirements and at a pleasingly acceptable price.
I had discussed my requirements with two other large Jewellers in Eastbourne and I found both not very interested in making a bespoke ring and both proffered excuses as to the cost of making such a ring.
Following such an excellent experience with the engagement ring, both wedding rings were purchased at a later date.
I would highly recommend Chatsfield Jewellers.

Visited afton hotel over bank holidays weekend. Marcus at reception was really nice and friendly. We got the sea view room directly facing the pier. Rooms are little on a smaller size and outdated but bathroom was good. Water pressure was pretty law so showering was not a good experience. Amenities provided were TV Tea coffee milk sugar kettle hairdryer, shower gel soap towel was everything we needed. Lobby area was good to sit and relax with a bar. Restaurant was not available. Overall a good location, polite staff and pocket friendly hotel. Location is very central, hop on hop off bus is right in front of the hotel. Kids enjoyed the stay. Will visit again.

We loved the aircraft displays and would love to see it return to Eastbourne as it brought a lot of visitors to the area. We felt that the local businesses should have been supplying entertainment, food and beverages and not outside businesses, this would then keep the money in Eastbourne for future local developments. We also felt the prices being charged were overpriced.

First visit to this hotel. A big hotel. Very out dated. Could be modernised. There is a separate parking at the back for hotel guest which is 6.00 for 1 night. Limited foor menu too. Staff were helpful.

Great location, right opposite the pier.
The hotel itself is not so great. It's possible my views are skewed as I foolishly booked for Saturday night of August bank holiday weekend when everyone descends. It was the best of a bad lot but overpriced at £99.
Staff friendly.
No issues as such.
Bathroom clean.
Bed was comfy and sheets clean.
Rest of the room was dusty and toothpaste/ dubious white marks on the doors.
Wardrobe doors had dark dirt on them I wiped off.
Fag buts littered all over the tiny unusable verandah.
Only one window opened.
Hot.
Noisy. Could hear floorboards upstairs creaking as well as everyone else talking and slamming doors in the hotel.
If you are not fussy and this is cheap then it's worth a stay.
Otherwise it's an overpriced DSS type BnB which is dated and tired.

We stayed here in 2021, we had a lovely, large airy room that had recently been refurbished. There is an excellent bar where the surroundings are very impressive, we enjoyed our Stay and would stay here again.

Stayed for one night only but would have been very happy to have stayed longer. A big old hotel, delightfully shabby in places but everywhere clean and tidy. Great view of famous Carpet Gardens and Pier. Some areas in hotel maybe need a bit of TLC soon but this shouldnt put anyone off staying. Reception staff all very helpful, especially Amelia. My single room on the top floor was spacious, I was delighted to get a seaview, even though I hadn't requested one, ensuite clean and bed very comfy. There was a fan in room which I made good use of during a warm evening. Plenty of electric sockets for charging phone, ipad etc. Bar and sunlounge good and a great place to relax. Self service breakfast excellent, plenty of choice, staff friendly and attentive. Following check-out I was able to store my suitcase in a locked room until my son arrived to collect me. I would very happily return to the Burlington again. Thank you.
