Massilia Bay is a gem in Pevensey Bay and we couldn’t have chosen a better place to celebrate our special occasion. Delicious French cuisine with an authentic wine list, indulgent deserts, hospitable staff and lovely decor.

Has got to be the best restaurant on the south coast. We had the best mussels sourced from Scotland and local fish. The whole family enjoyed the ambiance ages from 7 to 80.Brilliant staff and great food.

This was so tantalisingly close to being lovely.....Wednesday night is pizza night here but we'd had lunch out and didn't need a 'doughy' dinner! We really should have had the pizza.....or we should have been told that not having pizza would be a problem. Booking our table for 7 we arrived and service was great, our drinks came quickly. We then ordered and sat quite comfortably for 45 mins. We appreciate that good food, cooked to order, takes time. Other people got their pizza. We waited. We asked for tap water. It didn't come. I went to the bar for it. No problem. It was my husband's birthday. ( Which I'd mentioned in the online booking) We'd had champagne on the beach. We were relaxed. No problem. At 8.05 we were a bit peckish! I went to the bar and the staff's stress levels were through the roof. I didn't complain. I just wanted to make sure our order had gone through. We weren't just sitting there with no one any the wiser! Two minutes the chef called. Fine we thought. The food came and was delicious. I had the burger. My husband had pulled lamb on flatbread. He got lamb on toast but it was lovely. When we paid the waitress apologised. Staff shortages etc. Fine. We don't need to know the stresses. A bowl of olives and an "I'm sorry for the delay " would have been fine. An offer of dessert or gelato or even coffee would have changed this 3* rating. Experienced restrauters don't get stressed and make excuses. We don't need that stress laid upon us. We just need to be reassured. Fed. Pampered a little bit. Or....just say it's only pizzas on Wednesdays!

Fantastic evening at Massillia bay, delicious food and great quality, good value for money, the restaurant has a wonderful ambience, we enjoyed the rib eye steaks on steak night, thank you to the great service from Greg and the team they were all so attentive and took the time to have good conversation with us which made our evening, We will definitely be back and would highly recommend! Great range of Spanish beers too 10/10

The food was fabulous and well priced, we had a mixture of the fish menu and a la carte and all dishes were lovely and highly rated by our group. Lovely friendly service and very accommodating and relaxed.

Been wanting to try this restaurant for ages and went for an impromptu lunch. Was immediately greeted by the very friendly Greg. Made me feel very welcome as I was dining alone. Such a breath of fresh air to have lovely fresh different food from the average boring menus around The smoked salmon was to die for. Can't wait to go back for the Friday fish night.

Pizza average, to say the least. Pulled lamb, great reviews. It was fatty with tubes, left more than half the dinner, cold tinned tomatoes, which was strange. Took plate away without asking why? Staff not interested, place almost empty on a Saturday night in July. Not surprised.
